Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer 🙏

I am praying for all those affected by the devastating flash floods in Nepal and Tibet.

I pray for those who are grieving, and for those who are still waiting for news of their missing loved ones. I pray for the emergency workers in the region, operating in immensely difficult conditions to rescue people and bring relief. I pray too for those who are injured, and for the doctors and nurses working tirelessly to bring healing and rebuild lives.

Into the hands of our loving God, and in the name of Jesus Christ, I place all those who watch, wait and weep. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

There's no service at St Ambrose this coming Sunday as we're joining with St Mary the Virgin Church, Gisburn and St Peter and Paul's Church, Bolton-by-Bowland for our united benefice service.

Only a few days until Bishop Philip North leads our service of dedication for the new entranceway, installed in memory of the late and much loved John and Carol Pye.

The church belongs to all its parishioners, so whether you come to church regularly, sometimes, or not at all, you would be most welcome to join us for this special occasion.

Recently we began 'The Bible Course' and enjoyed starting our exploration of the world's best selling book. Our next session will be on Monday 17th August at 7pm.

Many thanks to Paul Shackleton and all the volunteers who help maintain our church graveyard with such care. It's work that goes on behind the scenes but is deeply valued by our church and parish community, especially those whose loved ones are buried here.
