We are excited to announce that Chelmsford Jewish Community and Harlow Jewish Community are uniting!

Our new Chelmsford and Harlow Jewish Community will still have all our lovely regular events in Chelmsford (Seder, Purim and Chanukah parties, HMD commemoration etc) but also bring a base in Harlow that will give us:

- A cheder
- A rabbi
- A synagogue building
- Festival and Shabbat services both online and in person

CJC is proposing to hold our annual Communal Seder on the first night of Pesach (Wednesday 1 April).

In order to make a provisional reservation, we need numbers by this Wednesday. All ages are welcome, as well as non-members.

Join the Chelmsford Jewish Community and Chelmsford City Council on Thursday 29 January 2026 for a Holocaust Memorial Day Commemoration.

This year’s theme: ‘Bridging Generations’ will take place at 7.00 pm in the Council Chamber, Chelmsford City Council, Civic Centre, Duke Street, CM1 1JE.

Special guest Lu Lawrence, daughter of Holocaust survivor Zigi Shipper BEM, who regularly gives talks through The Holocaust Educational Trust and The 45 Aid Society and is a leader on March of the Living.

Holocaust Memorial Day is the international day of remembrance for victims of the Holocaust and other genocides, marking the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.

We would once again like to extend an invitation to all members and friends of Chelmsford Jewish Community to attend the commemoration in central Chelmsford on Thursday 29 January 2026 commencing 7.00pm for 7.30pm.
