Earthly possessions crumble, moth and rust destroy, thieves steal. What are you truly investing in? Jesus calls us to lay up treasures in heaven, where they are eternal. Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Jesus reminds us that even the grass and flowers, here for a day, are clothed in exquisite beauty by God. If He cares so much for them, won't He clothe us, His children through faith in Christ, far more gloriously? We are clothed with Christ himself through His sacrifice, gifted with righteousness. Seek God's kingdom first, and all else will be provided.

Are you practicing your faith to be seen by others, or for God? True righteousness isn't a performance. Leave the trumpet and the stage at home. When you pray or give, do it genuinely, not for the audience. Let God be your only audience.

Forgiveness is key, as stated in the Lord's Prayer. We're asking God for deliverance from things too strong for us, and from 'the evil one.' Remember your strength comes from God; as a child of God, you have a mighty protector.
