We're thankful for amazing places like Milton Country Park where land has been returned to wildlife.

The pits created by the extraction of sand and gravel for roads and housing from about the 1930's to the 1960's were transformed into a country park before it was officially opened in 1993. Now the Cambridge Sport Lakes trust sensitively manages the land to support the natural diversity.

We're so thankful for God's creation: for the fascinatingly incredibly intricate systems and processes that create air we can breath, food we can eat and even our own bodies.

We're thankful for the changing colours as we wrap up warm for the colder months. We're also thankful for this time of harvest and of how fruitful our earth is!

We're thankful for the beautiful green spaces dotted around Cambridge with stunning cycle paths. How about you?

In the Bible, God spoke: “Let us make human beings in our image, make them reflecting our nature
So they can be responsible for the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the cattle, And, yes, Earth itself, and every animal that moves on the face of Earth.” (Genesis 1:26, The Message)

We'd recommend watching David Attenborough's beautifully sad documentary of what humanity is doing to the world God created: "Extinction: The Facts."(https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000mn4n)

To give just one of the facts, human actions will cause one million species to become extinct by the end of this century.

We have a stark choice between complicity with the way our society is extinguishing God's creation, or seeking another path to change things.

If you're angry or sad or frustrated, you are not alone. Get involved by messaging us to join our mailing list.

The link between racism and climate breakdown should not be ignored. 8 Archbishops and 38 Bishops have signed this statement published by the Anglican Communion Environment Network and it's well worth a read. Climate justice must be demanded hand in hand with social justice, they simply cannot be separated.

Environmental Racism – When Don’t Matter Leave a Comment / By Rachel Mash / News / Jun 20, 2020 Jun 23, 2020 Eleven Archbishops and sixty bishops have signed a Statement by the Anglican Communion Environmental Network on Environmental Racism – When don’t matter. Black...

Humanity was made in the image of God, independent of skin colour, s*x, creed or any distinguishing factor. We are made equally, we should be valued equally and have equal access to justice.
Racism is a sinful, hideous, pervasive distortion of humanity.
Climate injustice has this same grotesque distortion at its heart: a heart that says to anyone "Your life matters less than mine."
We stand in solidarity with Black Lives Matter.

Father God, rid racism from the heart of all of us.
Let us see each other with Your loving eyes.
Put a new heart in us that cares for all others above ourselves.
Give us Your heart of solidarity that mourns with all those who mourn.
Help us to recognise the times that we've been ignorant, times we have benefited from, and times been complicit in, the oppression of others.
Father we repent.
No more.
Don't let us succumb to despair.
But fill us with Your hope.
Fill us with Your Kingdom vision of liberty for the oppressed: a world without racism; a world where people don’t live in fear of the injustice in systems that are supposed to uphold justice; a world where people aren’t ashamed to wear their hair the way You gave it to them.
Commit us, empowered by Your Spirit, to use whatever influence and privilege we each have to shine a light on racism; to stand up and speak out for rights, dignity and justice for all our black sisters and brothers, not just now, but throughout our lives.
Father, keep this conversation and these ears open; keep us listening to each other's experiences.
Deliver us from the evil of racism.
Make us one like You Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit are one.

"... let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like ever-flowing streams." - God, through Amos (Amos 5:24, the Bible, ESV)

"Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression;" - God, through Isaiah (Isaiah 1:17, the Bible, ESV)

13 of us joined together in the rain for Holy Communion at the Rebel for Justice site today. We are so grateful to XR for accommodating our service on the stage. We remembered that we are standing in solidarity with the world's poorest as we took the bread and wine.

A huge shout out too to Just Love for leading us in evening prayer - we prayed at each road block, giving thanks to God for creation, saying sorry for our destruction of it and interceding for climate justice.

Join us at 1pm and 6pm tomorrow and Friday for more Communions and prayer!
