**Service of Light Hosted by Burntwood Churches Together**
Burntwood Churches Together are pleased to invite you to our Service of Light, celebrating all that is good. Join us on October 31st at 7 PM at St Joseph's Church, Cannock Road, Burntwood, WS7 0BB. All are welcome as we gather on 'All Hallows' Eve.'
Halloween has its roots in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, celebrated over 2,000 years ago. This festival marked the end of summer and the harvest, heralding the start of winter and a new year. During Samhain, it was believed that the boundary separating the spirit world from the living world blurred, allowing spirits to return to Earth for one night. This ancient tradition paved the way for the Christian festival of All Saints' Day, celebrated on November 1st. The vigil held on the eve of this day became known as "All Hallows' Eve" or Halloween.
Our Service of Light will feature homemade cakes, sweets for the children, light-themed coloring sheets, and decorated jars with candles. Refreshments will also be available. We invite you to join us for a meaningful alternative to traditional Halloween celebrations.
