Bromley Temple and Cultural Association (aka BTCA, Bromley Temple Trust)

Our aim is to bring the Indian community in Bromley and wider Kent area together to preserve and promote our culture and faith and support hard-to-reach groups such as children/elderly, with the help of dedicated volunteers with community service ethos. There is no Hindu Mandir in Bromley and adjoining areas such as West Wi

ckham, Locksbottom, Petts-wood, Orpington, Sidcup and Mottingham etc, despite the fact that there are more than 5000 hindus in the locality but still there is nowhere in Bromley where hindus can visit for their spiritual needs. Therefore to establish a Hindu Mandir and Cultural Centre, keeping faith, culture and traditional values at the heart, BTCA started an initiative in 2012 with a few families and sincere heartfelt thanks for immense support from so many of you, this has now evolved into a registered charity called Bromley Temple Trust (Regd. Your overwhelming support at public consultation, to emphasise that our community needs a specific venue for faith and cultural activities, underlines the importance of this project.

*Become part of this challenging and rewarding project*

Building Mandir and Cultural Centre is no small task, it demands un-ending commitment, tireless dedication and an enormous investment of time, money, expertise and knowledge. Which is why this community project is in need of a lot of help for which below working groups are set up for committed people to join:

• Utsav Team (Holi, Navaratri, Ganesh Utsav etc, including team for 12 monthly Bhajan Sandhya)

• Sports Team (to organise family sports day and competitions in locality)

• Fundraising & Finance

• Marketing & Promotion (including online)

• PR & Liaison (including Council Relations)

• Site & Property

• Education (including children classes as well as yoga, language, dance)

• Music

• Day-to-day Operations & Logistics
(including things for events such as catering, decorations, hall setup, and cleaning up)

Please feel free to join a working group that suits your expertise and/or interests. It will involve a certain degree of commitment and being available to attend meetings that occur around once a month. If you can volunteer and assist, please email us at [email protected] stating your name and preference. Alternatively, if you would like to help out or contribute on a more ad-hoc basis, then that is also gratefully welcomed. We hope you will join us in making this ambition a reality for the benefit of our community and future generations.

The BTCA volunteers, brimming with enthusiasm, gathered around the kitchen tables, rolling dough and stuffing sweet khoya‑filled gujiyas with practiced joy. Laughter mixed with the aroma of ghee as they fried each golden pastry, turning their teamwork into a delicious tribute to Holi’s spirit.
