Jackie from the Ripple Effect charity came into GB tonight to talk to the girls. She talked about the fruit and vegetables grown in Kenya where the charity works and their work alongside Brooke Horse and Donkey charity to help owners of donkeys care for their donkeys properly. The girls helped Jackie to make a pesticide which included natural ingredients such as chilli peppers and marigold flowers to control pests. The girls had banana, mango and pineapple for their snack and chose some charity gifts.

Christian Aid - Ebola Emergency Appeal - Over 1,000 cases. At least 240 deaths. And the
numbers are still climbing. A new Ebola outbreak is spreading across the Democratic Republic
of Congo (DRC). Cases have already crossed the border into Uganda. The World Health
Organisation has declared a public health emergency of international concern. There is no
vaccine. No specific treatment. With a fatality rate of up to 50%, prevention is the only way to
stop the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola. You’ve stood with families in emergencies before. We're
asking you to stand with them again - right now, while the response can still contain this.

An Ebola outbreak is spreading in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Cases are climbing every day. We can stop this, but only if we act now.

At Baby Comes Too I asked the children to help me make a sheep. Today it has gone on a special adventure.

I’ve put our logo and address on the sheep and sent it to someone who is collecting sheep made by church linked baby & toddler groups.

In June all the sheep sent to her are going with her to London to meet some important leaders to tell them how vital baby & toddler groups are.

Sometimes Christians refer to God as like a shepherd looking after their sheep (us). Jesus told a story about a shepherd looking after his 100 sheep but discovering he only had 99 so one was missing so the shepherd went to look for the one, as in God cares for every person and every person matters.

Today is World Bee Day – Keynsham Girls brigade entered the Bee Friendly Trust's Bee Friendly Awards 2026.
The judges enjoyed reading about everything that we have been doing to support bees and pollinators in our area. They particularly loved seeing the progress the Girls’ Brigade has made since entering the Awards last year, and their collaboration with the Ripple Effect.
Keynsham Girls’ Brigade has been chosen as one of this year’s winners.
Congratulations everyone!
When we are back at GB after half term the girls will receive a certificate some stickers and some wildflower seeds.
