We've seen many emails from MPs justifying the UK's current incremental response to the climate and nature crisis.
They often include impressive-looking lists of policies and promises, explaining that the government is doing more than ever before.
But the question we need to ask is:

This graphic tells an important story.
*๐๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ถ๐ฐ* progress in reducing emissions from power generation - but in most other major sectors, emissions are effectively flatlining.
That's because for power generation, decarbonisation can happen largely behind the scenes, but for transport, housing and agriculture it cannot - you need public understanding and support.
And our survey data tells us that people generally have no idea of the scale and immediacy of the threats to British life - or that the solutions already exist. So there is no sense of urgency.
You can't expect the public to support and make major changes if you don't first explain why they are needed.
That's why we created the . To help inform the public and build the political support needed for action at the scale the science now demands.
It's time to brief the British public, not only on the risks we face, but also on the great opportunities that will flow from economy-wide action.
