GREAT RAIN
“And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.” (1 Kings 18: 45)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
Our Focal Scripture makes mention of how the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. God had promised to send rain upon the earth in 1 Kings 18 vs. 1, but when it was time for the rain to come forth, it came as great rain. God did more than what He said He would do. There had been no rain for more than three years, and when God was set to restore the rain, He caused the rain to be greater than expected.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you are about to witness a great rain. Heaven will cause it to rain heavily in your life. In whatever area where you have experienced dryness and famine, God is coming with a great rain. In whatever area where you have been in lack, an abundant rain is coming your way. God is about to send the rain that ordinarily shouldn’t fall at once, to you. God is about to send rain that will wipe your tears of shame.
The rain that fell in Israel was not the sort of rain that fell in some areas but did not fall in some. It was great rain. It was rain that everyone witnessed in every part of the nation. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you are about to witness that great rain that will go round every facet of your life. Just when you are celebrating the rain in your family, your finances will not be left out. Your career, business, ministry, etc. will witness a great rain.
It had not rained in Israel for over three years, and when God would cause it to rain, it seemed that He wanted to send all the rain that was yet to fall for the period of famine. It seemed like the rain of three years coming in one day. Hear me as I hear the Lord: the great rain that God is about to send to you will seem like the rain of many years compressed into one.
