Tonight at 7pm we step into one of the most tender moments of Holy Week. On the night before He died, Jesus gathered with His friends, broke bread, and gave them a new commandment: “Love one another as I have loved you.”

And then He did something astonishing.
He knelt down and washed their feet.

In that simple, humbling act, Jesus showed us what love looks like in action — service, compassion, and a willingness to stoop low so that others may be lifted up. It is the doorway into the mystery of the Cross, where love will be poured out completely.

At Mass this evening, the priest will echo that same gesture of Christ by washing the feet of members of the congregation — a living reminder that we are called to serve one another with the same self-giving love.

You are warmly invited to join us as we enter the great Triduum together, remembering the night He gave us the Eucharist, the commandment of love, and the example of humble service.

Mass begins at 7pm
All are welcome.

We had a wonderful parish quiet day in lovely spring sunshine at St. Antony's Priory in Durham today. We are very grateful to Samuel and Tom, our brilliant ordinands on placement from Cranmer Hall when led our reflections. We have been focusing this lent on New Testament figures and what they can teach us about discipleship. Samuel and Tom guided us into considering the lives of the Blessed Virgin Mary and James the Just as models of discipleship. We are also grateful, as always, to Fr. Nicholas Buxton for his generous hospitality.
