School holidays always remind me of something important: young people don’t stop growing just because the timetable does.
If anything, this season gives us space we don’t normally get - slower mornings, longer conversations, and those unplanned moments where real discipleship can happen. The kind that isn’t rushed and squeezed in to life.
At Rise Up Reach Out, we see this all the time. When the pressure lifts, young people often become more open, more reflective, and more ready to explore who they are and who Jesus is calling them to be. Holidays create room for:
Real connection - not just “How’s school?” but “How are you doing?”
Life-on-life discipleship - showing faith in the everyday, not just the organised sessions.
Purpose-building moments - helping young people discover identity and confidence.
Strengthening trust - because relationships grow in the unhurried spaces.
This is why we’re passionate about equipping churches, leaders, and parents to disciple young people beyond programmes - into real life, real conversations, and real transformation.
If you’re looking for support, ideas, or training to help your youth ministry thrive this summer, you can find resources and practical tools at www.riseupreachout.co.uk, or message me for a simple conversation.
School holidays aren’t a break from discipleship. They’re one of the best environments for it!
