St Lawrence’s Community Church – Temporary Closure Notice

Following a recent inspection by the trustees, St Lawrence’s Community Church is currently closed to the public due to health and safety concerns.

During our visit, a number of issues were identified which require further assessment and remedial work. These include matters relating to damp and mould, building condition, and essential safety certifications. As trustees, we have a responsibility to ensure the church is a safe environment for all, and for this reason the decision has been made to close the building while these issues are addressed.

We understand that this may cause disappointment or inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to resolve these matters as quickly as possible.

The Church yard will continue to remain open.

Pleased to report no further dog fouling since our last post.

Sign now in place.

Gate unlocked for visitors to visit graves of loved ones.

Will be locked again this evening.

Disappointed to find yet more dog poo in the church grounds this morning.

Main gates have now been locked until further notice.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to the 99% of users who treat the area with respect.

The bottom gate is still accessible.

We did post a warning that we might have to do this but the culprit obviously isn’t on Facebook or just irresponsible enough to ignore us.

We have always allowed dog owners to walk our grounds. Never experienced a problem in the last few years until a couple of days ago.

We have picked this up now but if it was YOUR dog please pick it up next time!!!!

Most dog owners are responsible and respectful

We don’t want to lock our gates or use CCTV but if this happens again we may feel we have to.

We are so happy a kind person cleared all the gutters on the church. They are no longer overflowing and hopefully the North wall can now dry out and be repaired internally.
