Special Madrasahs

Special Madrasahs We aim to provide Islamic Inclusive Educational resources and raise awareness of meeting the needs of SEND children in our community.

Shalina Litt is the Founder and Director of Special Madrasahs. Her own experiences as a mother and teacher were what drove her to set up this initiative. She could see that her son was viewed as problematic, so rather than destroying his self esteem and desire to learn about Islam she decided to start her own madrasah. She worked with children who had autism and down syndrome which gave her furthe

r experience of how essential this ambition was. Mothers with tears in their eyes would share their feeling of being let down and overwhelmed with the task of raising children with specific learning needs. Using her teaching experience in EYFS Special Madrasahs was formed creating a wealth of learning resources that make Islam more accessible to all children or people no matter who you are, you should be able to say, "My Ummah loves me"!

Such a simple but effective activity aimed at helping people appreciate the gift of site.
1. Put 10 cubes together and set the timer
2. Put on a blindfold and repeat step one

The aim of this activity is to raise awareness for the need of inclusion in Islamic resources. All barriers to getting closer to Allah should be sought. We aim to develop these resources at Special Madrasahs with your support.
