Since its establishment in the 70’s, the Masjid has gone through numerous phases of development and progress. The building itself has become a landmark of the area and is well-known to all, with a colourful history behind the structure. Serving the Muslim community, Green Lane Masjid has developed over the years catering for all people by providing vital services and assistance. As well as a Madra

sah, the Masjid houses offices, flats, library and a state of the art funeral faciilities. Numerous guests have visited the Masjid, including the illustrious Imams of the two holy mosques of Makkah and Madinah, as well as various Islamic scholars and local MPs. With recent developments at the Masjid, the services being offered have increased; a recent renovation means that the Masjid accommodates more worshippers than ever; a radio broadcast system has been installed; sermons and other programs are now broadcast over the internet and much more is being planned to cater in particular for the younger Muslim community.

Starting next week, week commencing 8th June 2026, join us every Monday, Wednesday and Friday after Maghrib for a 7 week journey through Aqeedah, Fiqh and Islamic History.

What we’ve been up to at GLM this May 👇

May was another month of khayr and impact at Green Lane Masjid, alhamdulillah 🌙

Through your support, Taskforce GLM helped provide over 900 Qurbanis across 13 countries, with over £135,000 donated, while over 150 hujjaj travelled with GLM to perform Hajj 🕋

Our community projects continued serving those in need, from Eid gifts for children in hospital 🎁 to Qurbani meat for zakat recipients and a local women’s refuge.

Alhamdulillah, we also celebrated a Pure Hifdh milestone 📖, supported new Muslims through Islamwise, hosted beneficial seminars, and saw our youth football programmes continue to grow ⚽

Our media content reached over 765,000 YouTube views, 787,000 Instagram views and 70,000 TikTok views 🎥

📍Today, our Cancer Support Service attended Cancer Awareness Day at Soho Museum, alongside a range of organisations committed to raising awareness, promoting early screening, and supporting those affected by cancer.

A cervical screening service was available on-site, offering free checks to members of the public. This provides an important opportunity for people to access potentially life-saving screening in a convenient and supportive environment, while also learning more about cancer prevention and early detection.
