Isaiah 53 Amplified according to Strongs, Hebrew Dictionaries.
1. WHO HAS believed (trusted in, relied upon, and clung to) our message, report?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
2. For He, [the Servant of God] shall grow up before Him
like a tender plant, like a root out of dry ground; He
has no form or comeliness no [royal, or kingly pomp],
that we should look at Him, and no beauty that we
should desire Him.
3. He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men,
a Man of sorrows and and acquainted with grief;,
sickness disease, & suffering; and He was like One from
Whom men hide their faces. He was despised,
and we esteemed, appreciated Him not.
4. But Surely He, [Jesus,], hath borne, took, taken,
carried [away], our; greifs, sicknesses, diseases, plagues,
Infirmities;
And bare, bore, took, carried, taken up, our; anguish,
greifs, sorrows, pains, maladies, afflictions, & infirmities;
Yet we did consider Him stricken, smitten, plagued,
destroyed of God, and afflicted, cursed, & wrathed. [as
with the curse of the Law of Moses;. {Gal 3:13}]
5. But, He, [Jesus], was wounded, pierced, profained, defiled; slain, broken, for our transgressions,
He was bruised, broken, to pieces, crushed, destroyed;
for our iniquities.
The chastisement & punishment of our peace, health,
Healing, happiness, prosperity, Favour, well-being,
wholeness, & saftey was upon Him,
And with his Wounds, bruises, His being wounded,
bruised, crushed, striped, hurt, destroyed, in our place,
[on the cross;] we ourselves are thoroughly healed and made whole.
