Our final full day of All Ages Gathering explored the deeply human themes of death and loss, making space for reflection, listening and shared experience. The week then ended with a much lighter celebration as everyone came together for the Last Night Entertainment.

Today we turned to later years, sharing experiences and reflections on ageing, change and the richness that comes with a lifetime of experience. Worship, home groups and community-led activities continued to bring generations together. The teens group went for a walk, a paddle and ice cream!

Today’s theme was adulthood, alongside a special Global Quaker Worship hosted by EMES, connecting Friends beyond our gathering. Outside we played parachute games- to the particular delight of the children. We finished the day together beneath the remarkable spectacle of the solar eclipse, after a short walk through woodland.

Early Adulthood
The River of Life moved into early adulthood, with stories, discussions and activities exploring this stage of our journeys. We celebrated the birthday of EMEYF, and heard from Friends’ involved with EMEYF over the years, helping to strengthen the Quaker communities in Europe and the Middle East. We lit a bonfire in the evening and watched shooting stars in the sky. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Today at All Age Quaker Gathering we reflected on youth, hearing different perspectives and continuing the conversations in our home groups and activities. In the evening, the EMES Youth Group brought everyone together over board games.

Friends from across Europe and the Middle East, and further afield, arrived at Haus Altenberg, Germany for the start of our All Age Gathering, The River of Life. An evening of welcomes, introductions and new connections began our week together.
Today our first full day, explored childhood — sharing experiences across generations through worship, conversation and community activities. The evening ended on a joyful note with group dancing.

The All Age Gathering planning group are looking forward to welcoming around 180 Friends and their families from all around the world to our gathering which begins tomorrow, 8th August.
