🚒 Through the night, while firefighters battled a major blaze in Bermondsey, our Emergency Response Vehicle was there to support those on the front line.
Last night, our team was on scene at the recycling centre fire in Bermondsey, providing refreshments and a place of rest for firefighters and other emergency responders during the protracted incident that many of you may have seen reported in the news.
Thankfully, only one person required treatment at the scene by the London Ambulance Service, and no other injuries were reported. While there was significant damage to the site, we are grateful that everyone remained safe.
Our team was on hand between 7:40pm until 3:35am, serving those working tirelessly in challenging circumstances. During that time, we provided:
☕ Nearly 175 cups of tea and coffee
🥤 Over 500 cans of drink
🍫 Just under 600 chocolate bars
🍞 17 loaves of bread, which were made into cheese and corned beef sandwiches
We are proud to stand alongside the London Fire Brigade, offering practical support and a warm welcome when it's needed most.
And once again, we're thankful to the Hovis factory in Erith for the donation of fresh bread. It's great to know you're there when we 'knead' you.
