🧵 Throwback Thursday 🧵

Taking it all the way back to around 2018/2019 for this one!

These photos are from the “oh no… I’ve made a mistake” stage of my quilt journey 😂

I’d cut out ALL my squares… only to realise they weren’t actually all the same size. 🤦‍♀️

So there was nothing for it — I had to go back over every single square and trim them all down to the same size before I could carry on.

Then came the fun part… trying to work out a new layout with what I had left.

And the funny thing is, the layout I worked out back then is the exact same layout the quilt has today!🥰

What started as a project years ago is finally getting the attention it deserves — although there have definitely been a few more mishaps along the way! 😂

Sometimes you just have to step away from a project for a while and come back to it when you’re ready.

Who else has a project that has been sitting around for far too long?👀🧵

WIP Wednesday 🧵✨
After a few rather stressful days, I decided I needed to get back to something that makes me happy — fabric shopping! 🥰
So I headed off to pick out some bias binding for one of my current projects.
And honestly… is there anything more dangerous than saying “I’ll just have a quick look at the fabric and haberdashery”? 😂
There are SO many colours and choices!
I eventually came home with my chosen binding and got back to the project. ❤️
Sometimes WIP Wednesday isn’t about how much you’ve made — sometimes it’s just about getting yourself back into the creative headspace. 🧵✨
What would you have picked from all those colours? 👀

Try It Tuesday 😂
Today’s Try It Tuesday didn’t quite go to plan!
Yesterday was one of those “well, that escalated quickly” days, so today has been spent cleaning rather than crafting.
No sewing.
No crochet.
No XTool.
Just cleaning, cleaning and… more cleaning! 🧽😂
Sometimes real life gets in the way of the crafting plans.
Hopefully I’ll be back at the machines soon! 💜

🧵✨ Makers Monday — Series 2, Episode 1 ✨🧵
And we’re starting a brand new project!
After finishing my shirred dress series, it’s time for something completely different — a little coat for my youngest daughter. 🥰
I’m using the Kwick Sew K4012 pattern and this gorgeous double-sided grey dinosaur fabric. 🦖
It’s waterproof on the outside with a cosy fleece underside, so I’m hoping this is going to be the perfect combination of practical + cute for those wet and chilly days! ☔️
Now it’s time to get cutting and see if I can turn this pile of fabric into a coat! ✂️🧵
Who’s ready for Series 2? 👀

🧵✨Sewcial Saturday!✨🧵

Today was a little different from my usual Studio Saturday because the sewing studio went on the road… well, technically I went to my sister’s! 😂

Mum and I headed over to my sister’s for a good old-fashioned sewing circle— sewing machines out, projects on the go, plenty of chatting and probably more tea than was strictly necessary. ☕😂

There’s just something special about sitting together and making things, isn’t there? ❤️

Sometimes crafting isn’t just about what you make… it’s about the people you make alongside. 🥰🧵

So today I’m swapping Studio Saturday for Sewcial Saturday— and honestly, I think this might need to become a regular thing!

What would your perfect sewing/crafting meet-up involve? 👇

✨ FINISHED FRIDAY ✨

It’s been a bit of a mixed bag of makes this week!

🍗 First up, a little more fair prep — a batch of crochet chicken nuggets! Because apparently no craft fair is complete without some fast food you can’t actually eat 😂🍗

👗 And then… SHE’S FINALLY FINISHED! 🎉

My shirred dress has gone from an old quilt, elastic, sewing machine dramas and “will this actually work?” to an actual finished dress!

I’m honestly so pleased with how it turned out 💖

Two very different makes, but both officially off the WIP list! ✅

Now… what should I make next? 👀✨

Throwback Thursday ✨

Taking it back to 2023 and some of my very first craft fairs! 🥹

Looking back at these photos makes me smile because I was still figuring everything out — what to make, how to display everything, what people liked and, of course, how much stuff I could possibly fit onto one table 😂

So much has changed since then, but one thing definitely hasn’t… my love of making things and sharing them with other people ❤️

It’s lovely to look back and see how far you’ve come, even when it doesn’t always feel like you’re moving forward.

Here’s to more makes, more fairs and plenty more creative chaos ✨

✨Try It Tuesday ✨
Something a little different for Try It Tuesday this week! 👀
With craft fairs and the silly season fast approaching, I’m starting to realise that I need to get myself organised when it comes to all the behind-the-scenes business bits… especially business cards and packaging! 😅
So, I got the XTool out to have a go at making some custom business cards ✨
It’s always fun finding new ways to use my machines, and hopefully this is the start of getting myself a little more prepared before the craft fair chaos begins! 😂
Now to see how they turn out… 👀
Do you make your own business cards and packaging, or do you prefer to order them?
