Following Evensong this Sunday 17th May (which is at 5.30pm), at 6.30pm we have a recital from our Choral Scholars in aid of the Choral Foundation here - do please come and support our excellent young singers!

We will also be participating in the London Festival of Contemporary Church Music this Sunday. LFCCM promotes and celebrates new and recent sacred choral and organ works, with services and concerts across London and beyond. We have up to three choral scholarships available at St George's for the academic year 2026-27, accepting applications in all voices. The team of four choral scholars gain valuable skills and support the main parish choir, and sing on their own as a consort once a month.

Student singers of any age can apply, with a stipend of £1500 a year for those in secondary education, and £2000 for those in higher education. Please apply via the parish office, and see more details on our website: https://stgeorgesbeckenham.co.uk/music/choral-foundation/

Calling all choral singers! Our next"Come and Sing" Evensong is on Sunday 19th October. You will joining the regular church choir for the service, with all music provided, and an opportunity to chat over tea and cake.

Time: Rehearsal at 3.30pm for 5.30 service, with tea and cake in between
Canticles are Samuel Coleridge-Taylor in F, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the composer's birth
Introit: 'Thou knowest, Lord' by Purcell

Here at St George’s we have 10 bells - you’ll likely hear them ringing out before a Sunday service, during the week on practice nights and for other special occasions.

The sound of church bells is a cherished part of our community’s fabric. But have you ever thought about the people behind the peals?

On Saturday, 2 August, the tower doors at St Margaret’s Church in Rochester will be open for a Ringing Discovery Day. Come and:
