Free Energy Awareness drop-in sessions -
Monday 28th April, 19th May or 2nd June, 10.00am – 12.00pm
Come to a free drop-in to find out about staying warm for less at home, Carbon Monoxide and associated risks, and signing up to the Priority Services Register.
The Priority Services Register is a free service that provides extra advice and support if there’s an interruption to your electricity, gas or water supply. Many people are eligible to join, including pensioners, people with children under 5, people with disabilities and/or using certain medical equipment. We can help to sign you up (it’s quick, easy and free) – benefits include:
- Advance notice of planned power cuts to help you prepare
- Alternative heating and cooking facilities if your gas supply is interrupted
- Free moving of meters if they are in a hard-to-reach location
- Annual free gas safety check (for certain eligible households) to check your supply and appliances are safe to use
- ‘Knock and wait’ service to alert engineers if you need a little longer to answer the door
- Priority support in the event of a power cut
We will also have information about Carbon Monoxide and signs to look out for in the home. Thanks to funding from the ‘Cadent Centre for Warmth project’, a Carbon Monoxide detector will be provided free of charge, if you don’t have a working one at home.
Join us for a cuppa at Trinity Methodist Church on any of the following dates: Monday 28th April, 19th May or 2nd June, 10.00am – 12.00pm
