Fenrir (pronounced “FEN-rir;” Old Norse Fenrir, “He Who Dwells in the Marshes”[1]) is the most infamous of the many wolves in Norse mythology. His importance for the pre-Christian Scandinavians is demonstrated by his being depicted on numerous surviving runestones, not to mention his ubiquity in Old Norse literary sources.

He’s the son of the god Loki and the giantess Angrboda, which makes him the brother of the serpent Jormungand and the underworld goddess Hel.

This is a mug created for you and your beverage of choice designed based around artwork found on a small cup which was excavated from a Viking mound .

In the 10th century, King Gorm reigned the empire of the danish vikings. The capital of his territory was Jelling in Denmark, where was burried in pagan manners after his death in 958 AD in a large mound. Two of these mounds of an impressive size still dominate the archeological site of Jelling.
The northern mound was opened in the 19th century by untrained workers, later supported by archaeological experts. The excavators discovered a wooden burial chamber, built for 2 persons, probably king Gorm and his wife Thyra. It was obvious that the chamber had been robbed in ancient times, there where only a few grave goods left, and no traces of the bodies were found. The most impressive find was a small cup of massive silver, decorated in animal style (Jelling Style). The first excavators had the opinion that the grave robbers had been failed to see the small beaker, which was probably the personal property of king Gorm himself.

I posted tons of T-shirts out over the past week and can’t thank you all enough for the support! During the Ragnarok, Thor and Serpent Jormungandr were destined to slay each other. As the days of Ragnarok were looming, Loki, Jormungandr, Fenrir, and their army would make their way to Asgard. Fenrir ran with his jaws opening and eating anything in sight while Jormungandr poisoned the world with its venomous breath. Thor and Jormungandr encountered again and they fought as never before. Thor used his hammer – the Mjolnir – to kill the serpent. The Thunder God, however, could not gloriously survive this mortal battle as he was also poisoned by the deadly serpent's venom, which finished his life.
