The first London Festival of Architecture tours at St Mary-at-Finchley take place this weekend. Discover our stunning Grade II* listed church, featured on the BBC's Antiques Roadshow, uncover centuries of local history, and explore the wildlife-rich churchyard as part of Churches Count on Nature.

🌿 Community Gardening Afternoon at St Mary-at-Finchley 🌿

Join us on Saturday 6 June, from 2pm–4pm, for our summer community gardening afternoon.
Help care for the churchyard and preserve the environment around our beautiful Grade II listed memorials. There will also be optional nature activities as we celebrate Love Your Burial Ground Week and Churches Count on Nature.

Please bring your own gardening gloves and tools if you have them, although some equipment will be available.

Whether you're an experienced gardener or simply keen to lend a hand, we'd love to see you there!

🎻 We’re delighted to announce the upcoming concert of prize-winning Catalan cellist Gerard Flotats on Sunday, 14 June at St Mary-at-Finchley.

Based in London, Gerard performs regularly across Europe and the United States. He has appeared at renowned venues including Wigmore Hall, the Palau de la Música Catalana, Bridgewater Hall and the Pierre Boulez Saal, and has been featured on BBC Radio 3 and Catalunya Música.

Join us for an inspiring evening of solo cello music, featuring:

• J.S. Bach – Suite No. 2 for Solo Cello
• Alexander Papp – Reflections Suite No. 2
• Music by Sofia Gubaidulina

St Mary-at-Finchley will be celebrating the London Festival of Architecture 2026 from Saturday 6 June to Sunday 14 June with a fantastic programme of free-of-charge events.

Join us on one of our signature Heritage Tours and discover the rich history of our Grade II* listed church —the oldest building in Finchley — and its churchyard, home to seven Grade II listed monuments. Multiple dates and times available.

Take part in the Community Gardening Event on Saturday 6 June from 2pm until 4pm with optional Churches Count on Nature/ Love your Burial Ground Week activities for spectators.

Enjoy Historic Sundial Viewings- a rare opportunity to see our famous sundial, featured on BBC Antiques Roadshow and in a 1793/94 painting byJ.M.W. Turner.

Join us for a Healthy Heritage Walk -a 5-mile circular walk on Sunday 14 June at 2.00pm, exploring local history and green spaces, followed by drinks and nibbles at 4.30pm.

Enjoy a fabulous Cello Concert on Sunday 14 June at 6pm with prize-winning Catalan cellist Gerard Flotats, playing J.S. Bach: Suite No. 2 for solo cello, Alexander Papp: Reflections Suite No. 2 plus music by Sofia Gubaidulina. Doors open 5.30pm with wine and soft drinks served after the concert.

Join us for a special recital with prize-winning Catalan cellist Gerard Flotats as he performs the timeless beauty of J.S. Bach’s *Suite No. 2 for Solo Cello*, alongside *Reflections Suite No. 2* by Alexander Papp and music by Sofia Gubaidulina.
