It is with immense sadness that we acknowledge the death of one on the past pillars of Fresh Hope, Christiana Sillah. Christiana was our Children’s Welfare Officer until she moved overseas with her husband Ibrahim’s work. She worked tirelessly in rescuing many babies who to this day are supported by Fresh Hope. She loved them all deeply. With out a doubt she has stored up many treasures in Heaven. Our deepest condolences to Ibrahim and the family from all of us at Fresh Hope. This is how we remember dear Christiana.

We hope you have a great day. A special shout out to our Foster Plus Dad’s and to the men on the ground in Sierra Leone who are making a difference and being that positive father role model for our children who don’t have a relationship with their birth dad. The love you show for these children are showing them a small part of the heart of the father to love them and direct them to invest in a relationship with their heavenly father. You are helping shift the culture in Sierra Leone for positive future daddy-son and daddy-daughter relationships. God sees all you dad’s, daddy figures and mentors out there and we pray that he blesses you today.

We were able to gain the funds to extend our pig building just in time to give our growing piglets more room to grow and in anticipation for our new piglets who will be arriving soon. More cute piglet pictures to come! 🐷

That little face just says it all. The children were very excited to receive new bedding as part of the money raised from our 'Gift a Wish' campaign at Christmas time. New bedding is a simple yet such an important thing that will help the children feel at home in the Baby Rescue Centre.

TODAY WE ARE CELEBRATING!

God is at work in our Technical and Vocational Training Centre in Sierra Leone, West Africa. Our students decided to hold a thanksgiving service in recognition of the life changing opportunity they have had to learning a new skill to achieve and maintain a reliable source of income to support their families. This opportunity has given the people of Sierra Leone an opportunity for a better life for their community. Pastor Alusine Massaquoi described the event as "colourful and talk of the city" and reflected that the students "thank God for restoring them and giving their lives meaning."

It’s exciting! It’s unboxing time! Think this unboxing might just be more exciting than unboxing those amazon parcels. These new sewing machines have given the students more opportunities for learning and a greater chance of gaining a reliable source of income to improve their future.

Choosing to celebrate no matter what our circumstances are because we are forgiven, accepted and redeemed by his grace. The stone was rolled away on Easter Sunday. Jesus defeated death and he’s still rolling stones away today. That same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us today. Peter 1: 3 says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” Jesus defeated death so that we can have a living hope that is founded in the reality of the promises of God. Those promises of a new, glorified and resurrected mind, body and soul for all those who trust in him. Why don’t you share that living hope with someone in your life today?

We have some exciting news for you! 🐷

Our first set if piglets were born. We have 8 new piglets on the pig farm. As the piglets are getting bigger we are in the process of building another pig shed to provide better housing to accommodate the pigs and to keep the pig ministry going. Our pig ministry is an important means of producing profit from within Sierra Leone itself to support the other ministry areas rather than relying solely on money from donations. This ministry has been going for just over a year and we are hoping to reap the benefits from this ministry soon as the housing for pigs is improved.

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far for 5 sewing machines at £200 each for our technical and vocational training centre. These are needed to train girls in Sierra Leone to be able to be self-reliant and provide a sustainable income for their families.

So far, through our FaceBook fundraiser and generous donations, we have raised an amazing £761. This means we only have £239 left to reach our goal of £1000 for 5 sewing machines.

✂️🧵👗 🚨URGENT APPEAL🚨 ✂️🧵👗

COVID-19 has hit us all pretty hard. We are passionate about empowering women in Sierra Leone to be able to provide for their families for a sustainable and self-reliant future. We have recently renovated our technical and vocational centre including a tailor section. To be able to improve our tailor section we needed 10 new sewing machines at £200 each. We have already raised enough for 5 new machines.

We are halfway there!

Could you help us raise £1000 for 5 more sewing machines for our Street Girls to learn the skills needed to provide them with a sustainable means of income? ❤️

We currently have 18 students in our new technical and vocational centre which opened in January 2021. We have been able to help support these women through our new facilities but training them has been difficult with only 5 sewing machines in our tailor section. To operate more efficiently and to be able to provide the best experience for these women we need to able to purchase 10 more machines (costing £200 per machine). Our prayer is that we also are able to purchase a means of transportation to reach more women and to gain regular financial support to be able to expand our premises to host more students.
