A busy coffee morning today in the James Street Church Hall with £229 raised for church funds. Next week's coffee morning will be for the RNLI Anstruther Lifeboat. All are welcome to come along between 10:00 & 11:30.

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿

Following yesterday's service and vote, the Kirk Session is delighted to announce that the congregation has overwhelmingly approved the nomination of Rev. Jake C Lehman as the new minister of Crail linked with St Adrian's East Neuk (Pittenweem, Anstruther, and Cellardyke). Rev. Lehman has accepted the call to serve subject to the approval of Fife Presbytery.

At the beginning of this new chapter, we ask all our community to keep Rev. Lehman and his family in their prayers and thoughts.

Next Wednesday marks the return of our weekly coffee mornings in the Church Hall following the summer break. All are welcome to come along for hot drinks, a blether, the raffle and to support good causes.

𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲

At the beginning of worship on Sunday, 9th of August, it was announced that the Nominating Committee for Crail linked with St Adrian’s East Neuk (Pittenweem, Anstruther & Cellardyke) is recommending a sole nominee for the post of minister of the linked charge. Rev. Jake Lehman BA MDiv has become a Church of Scotland minister after completing his familiarisation placement in Stirling following sixteen years as a Lutheran minister in America.

Rev. Lehman will be leading worship on Sunday, 23rd of August at 10:00am in Crail, and then at 11:30am in St Adrian’s East Neuk – Pittenweem. After each service, members and adherents will be asked to vote on whether to call him as our new minister.

We ask members of the community of all faiths, and none, to keep Rev. Lehman and the congregation in their prayers and thoughts at this exciting time of transition.

𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗨𝗸𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲

Our friends and neighbours at St John’s Scottish Episcopal Church are holding a charity art exhibition on Saturday, 15th of August between 10:00 & 16:00. Byzantine style icons painted by Ukrainian artists on used am******on boxes from the battlefields will be on display to raise funds for “Spiders for Ukraine” who provide medical aid to the frontline.

𝗣𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗺 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹

With Pittenweem Arts Festival over for another year, St Adrian’s - Pittenweem is pleased to announce that we have had a record-breaking week in terms of the number of visitors to the church and the amount of money we have raised. Over the last eight days, we welcomed 1769 visitors to the church and our “blind date with a book” stall raised £3,069 for the International Red Cross. In addition, our concerts raised £1,100 which will be divided between the wonderful musicians that we welcomed.

Thank you to our marvellous volunteers and all those who donated, wrapped, and bought books from our stall as well as those who performed and attended our concerts and tours of the Kirk. Your support means a great deal to our congregation!

𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀

During the Pittenweem Arts Festival, we run our “blind date with a book” outside the church to raise money for charity. This year, we have been so busy we are already very close to running out of books.

Therefore, if you have books that you are thinking of getting rid of we would gladly accept them. The church is open 10 - 4 each day and someone will be there to collect any donations. If you are unable to drop them off, please get in touch with our deputy Session Clerk, Aileen Campbell, on 07377 326458 and we can arrange for them to be collected.
