Churches Count on Nature at St James from 6th to 14th June

There’s still time to come along to the churchyard at St James Church, Acton Trussell ST17 0RJ to take part in the nature count which runs up to Sunday 14th June.

As the weather looks like improving now you might spot more bees and butterflies!

All you need to take part will be in the church porch: visitors list, recording sheets, badges for children and poly folders to keep everything dry. You don’t need to know the exact name of the plant or insect, tree or flower, although you could look it up on the iNaturalist app!

Please be respectful of the churchyard, take care as the ground is uneven in some places and close the gate when you leave.

Hope you will come to take part so the combined results of what’s spotted at St James can be added to the National Biodiversity Network’s database of wildlife in the UK. All are welcome.

Messy Church did Count on Nature!
A big thanks to all who came to St James’ Churchyard and who helped in any way at the Messy Church Count on Nature on Saturday 6th June. A happy time was had by all spotting poppies, ants, greenfly, jackdaws, nettles, fungi and so much more. Delicious handmade cakes were enjoyed after all that spotting.
Look out for the next Messy Church session which is planned for Saturday 4th July at All Saints Church, Bednall 2 - 4pm.
