Churches Count on Nature at St James from 6th to 14th June
If you’re interested in nature and fancy spotting some wildlife, please come along to the churchyard at St James Church, Acton Trussell ST17 0RJ to take part in a nature count from Saturday 6th to Sunday 14th June.
Everyone is invited to visit the churchyard at a time to suit you and to spend some time discovering and delighting in the rich wildlife there, recording what you find and the combined results will be added to the National Biodiversity Network’s database of wildlife in the UK.
Will you look at birds, insects, butterflies, wild flowers, trees or all of them?
You don’t need to know the exact name of the plant or insect although you could look it up on the iNaturalist app!
Everyone is welcome, children especially. All you need to take part will be in the church porch: visitors list, recording sheets badges for children and poly folders to keep everything dry.
Please be respectful of the churchyard, take care as the ground is uneven in some places and close the gate when you leave. Hope you will come to take part from 6th to 14th June or to visit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings at any time.
