Holme Cultram Abbey Church & Tearoom We are located in the Cumbrian Village of Abbeytown. Our Tearoom is currently open by appointment only. Opening times and dates to be confirmed.

We do offer a Tea and Talk service to anyone that would like to bring a group to hear about the history of the Abbey. In 2006 the village of Abbeytown was left devastated when Holme Cultram Abbey was subjected to an arson attack and left it in ruins. Fortunately the cost of the restoration of the Abbey was covered by insurance, but the contents, running costs, staffing and general maintenance were not covered. Since the fire the villagers have worked tirelessly to fund raise to keep the Abbey open. Please help support us fund raise to keep this beautiful landmark open. TEAROOM
We now have a tearoom that is going to be open to the public and ran by volunteers. Coffee, Tea, homemade cakes and light lunches will be available.

The Bishop of Carlisle has appointed The Revd Anton Müller as Rector of the Benefice of the Solway Plain. Anton is at present County Ecumenical Officer for Churches Together in Lancashire and also holds Permission to Officiate in the Diocese of Carlisle.
This appointment is subject to the usual legal checks.
