So where have you been hanging out lately?

When we’re living in awareness, we’re being mindful, and that’s when we get to choose where we want to hang out… the past, present or future.

Now don’t get me wrong, even if the past or the future aren’t serving us fully, it’s okay to hang out there, to feel all the feels, to vent it out etc, the difference is, b/c you’re mindful, living in awareness, vs on autopilot, you get to decide how long you hang there…

I’m choosing more & more to hang out in each present moment… the present moment anchors me, it fills me with gratitude, where I see the beauty of the simplest things in life…. it also allows me to nurture the relationships with the people I love🧡

I was cleaning out what felt like 100,000,000 photos on my phone last night ;) when I came across this awesome memory while in Mexico City last month. My son, yes my deep, conscious, I’ll try anything once, adventurous guy, convinced me to do an energy healing session.

Was it a tourist trap, hmm, I’ll never know, but what I do know is ultimately it’s my responsibility to take care of my energy, which then is reflected back to the world - into my relationships, my connections with strangers, my clients, anyone I have contact with ….

So I take opportunities like these (aka tourist traps as my hubby would say, lol) to bring awareness and press reset, focusing on intentional living, as I know the energy we give, is the energy we get.

We are powerful magnets.

Think about a time when you were feeling angry - Is all you see and taste focused around anger, frustration, injustice?

What about when you notice you’re overwhelmed? In those moments you’re more than likely consumed with chaos & anxiety …

I'm not saying the goal is to never be triggered - that’s not realistic, the goal is to notice the triggers, feel all the feels and then choose a different energy, one that serves you vs brings you into the downward spiral.

The point I want to drive home is to remind you that you always have a choice as to how you want to feel. We all get to manage it.

When I catch my triggers, specifically when I am worried, uncertain, fearful, impatient, frustrated, (yup just ask my fam, I cover the entire gamut ;) It’s in those moments I remind myself that gratitude is available if I want it.

Sometimes I go right into finding the lessons, the gifts, the appreciation. And other days I want to sit in whatever is triggering me, the difference is, I now know I get to manage my emotions and energy!

I always check and have the internal dialogue: what can I see or feel grateful for in this very moment? Yes Rebecca, even in the chaos, sadness or fear it is available to you?

Gratitude adds up and the more you choose to see and feel, the more you give out and receive back.

It was a bit of an effort to get here, but so worth it. The effort makes us feel safe as we near the ending of a pandemic…

We had no real expectations, except we knew the island of Grenada was quite rigid with covid and all requirements…

Well, it’s day 4 and you’re impressed beyond our imagination… the Grenadian people are truly the kindness people we’ve met… & the island beauty is more then we ever thought… we can’t wait to discover more…

For now… we relax, do a little work and fill our hearts with gratitude 🏝❤️

I don’t know about you, but the majority of my life I struggled with “what’s next”… the next goal, next dream, next project…

I’m a doer, a high achiever… all good, but with that I’ve come close to burn out, ridden with anxiousness, overwhelm and all that comes with it….
Go, Go, Go…
Do, Do, Do…
Crash, Crash, Crash!

Can you relate?

No shaming here… I believe we’ve been indoctrination into this belief system of goal, goal, and more goals… and once these goals are accomplished we get rewarded, validated, and feel successful …

Now don’t get me wrong Im the biggest dreamer. I always have a vision board, a project on the go…but the difference now Is I embrace being where I’m at, vs being attached to the end result and the hit of dopamine when I’ve completed a goal.

I’m present in the moment accepting the middle part of the journey. I don’t rush through, instead I trust that everything is and always will be fine….it is, we all have evidence of this in our lives. Want proof…stop & reflect.. think of a time you hit rock bottom - and now, everything is fine? Maybe not exactly what you thought, but you’re fine. B/c we always are) trusting myself has been a huge game changer in my life.

As a result of being ok with exactly where I’m at, I can finally thrive in calmness vs living a life of overwhelm…and worry 🙄

what’s next you might ask, being exactly where I’m at 🥰 and that will be on a beach in the next 10 hours 🏝

When we peel back all the layers of our beliefs, stories and thoughts, it's only then that we can reveal who we truly are at our core, aka, our authentic self - we can’t get there until we get off of living on autopilot - unaware & just existing.

You see when we are born there is one thing that is true for ALL of us; we ALL have infinite possibilities. Yes my friend, it is true, the world truly is our oyster!

We had no beliefs, no fears, no stories, no thoughts, no unconscious patterns – all we have is possibility!

It's not until our parents, guardians, love ones, teachers, place of worship etc .... indoctrinated their beliefs on to us which creates the blueprint for who we are today....and remember, there is no shaming here, in most cases everyone who loves/cares for us is always thinking their way is the best way (just ask my kids, lol ;)

But as I tell my clients, when you’re doing your inner personal development work it’s then you will see if your current beliefs are in alignment with your authentic self.

You can start to understand by questioning and getting curious about your current beliefs – why do I believe this? is it truth or is it b/c someone told me it should be as such or I should act as such etc…

And then start to question and get curious about new possibilities, desires, wants and dreams. Fear will try to take over as you start to recreate and that's where safe, secure support & relationships are key.

Becoming yourself is a beautiful unraveling process that takes courage and compassion for oneself.... I promise you it's so worth it; this deeper work is the foundation for living a life you love!

Neuroscience is proving that people who are successful and happy are not going through life changes alone.

Why?

Well, because we are habitual human beings who repeat patterns... unconsciously of course 😉….it’s our autopilot programming.

Often we have good intentions yet we sabotage ourselves, landing back in our comfort zone vs moving forward - which when you think about it, makes a lot of sense b/c moving forward can be uncertain, unpredictable -change is the opposite of where you have been probably most of your life, and that can be scary.

So if you're feeling stuck, get the support you need. Why relive the same year over? Something to reflect on as you head into 2022 in just over 2 months....

If not now, then when?

“As I began to love myself I found that anguish and emotional suffering are only warning signs that I was living against my own truth. Today, I know, this is “AUTHENTICITY”.

As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody if I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this person was me. Today I call it “RESPECT”.

As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life, and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow. Today I call it “MATURITY”.

As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance, I am in the right place at the right time, and everything happens at the exactly right moment. So I could be calm. Today I call it “SELF-CONFIDENCE”.

As I began to love myself I quit stealing my own time, and I stopped designing huge projects for the future. Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness, things I love to do and that make my heart cheer, and I do them in my own way and in my own rhythm. Today I call it “SIMPLICITY”.

As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for my health – food, people, things, situations, and everything that drew me down and away from myself. At first I called this attitude a healthy egoism. Today I know it is “LOVE OF ONESELF”.

As I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right, and ever since I was wrong less of the time. Today I discovered that is “MODESTY”.

As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worrying about the future. Now, I only live for the moment, where everything is happening. Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it “FULFILLMENT”.

As I began to love myself I recognized that my mind can disturb me and it can make me sick. But as I connected it to my heart, my mind became a valuable ally. Today I call this connection “WISDOM OF THE HEART”.

We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations or any kind of problems with ourselves or others. Even stars collide, and out of their crashing new worlds are born. Today I know “THAT IS LIFE”!”

DO YOU HAVE A GREAT LIFE, BUT STILL FEEL THAT SOMETHING IS MISSING?

I remember walking through my beautiful two-story house back 13-15 years ago thinking “Is this all there is?”

I immediately scolded myself for feeling discontented. I had a husband, beautiful kids, a safe and comfortable home, a good job — what was my problem and why were the simplest everyday tasks overwhelming me, while grief and guilt consumed me. Constantly wondering would I ever truly feel settled and happy.

A still, small voice inside continued to whisper, “Yes, there is more.”

Why wasn’t it enough?

I was constantly “doing” as I searched for my internal happiness. This overdoing lead to a series of health issues as well as a prescription for Prozac.
“What?!!” I thought. I knew instinctively that the LAST thing I needed was to numb out - I know anti-depressants can be a supplement as you heal, but for me at that time what I needed was to tune in and get honest with myself.

In the coming weeks, months, years I embarked on my healing journey - supporting myself as I peeled back all the layers, beliefs, stories and thoughts.

I knew how easy it was to trick myself, minimize my desires and mask up the pain as I got into overdoing… and I knew that that way of living wasn’t going to create a life I loved, desired and deserved.

Can you relate? Have you been staying at that dead-end job, in a co-dependent relationship, putting everyone else's needs first, all while lacking purpose & meaning in your life – knowing there must be something more…

And don’t worry, “the more” doesn’t necessarily mean you have to ditch all you have…”the more” can simply mean you can start with getting in tune with who you are as you connect with your inner compass – and you can do this right now, by getting still and placing your hand on your heart.

WHY the heart you may ask – our heart is our truest, most authentic part of who we are. It speaks our truth. It is the center of our feelings – the voice of our soul
