We asked you all to be praying about possible storms as the latest heatwave finally ends. There was a storm last Friday, and it did some major damage in our neighborhood. But we barely had even a single tree branch fall on our property. Thank you for praying for our protection.

Lauren took Mary and Laurel to the States last week to be at her sister's wedding. I've been holding down the fort with Boaz, Nelle and Iris. If all goes well, we'll be back together again tomorrow. Pray for smooth travels for Lauren, especially with Laurel! Flying with a baby is not easy.

There are a lot of wildfires in France right now. We are in no danger, but the ones to the West of us have brought a lot of smoke to our area. The air quality has dropped and we can smell the wood smoke. We're very thankful that God has not allowed the fires to happen near us.

The heat waves across Europe have been all that your headlines say. Here's our once-vibrant yard in the aftermath of the "canicules" (french daily vocab: heat waves).
While keeping the grass green hasn't been a priority, keeping our house cool enough for us to function and rest well is important. Currently Boaz spends summer nights on a little couch on the landing because his bedroom is over 100°F.
We are starting a new special project fund through our mission, with the goal of installing an ac system in our home by next summer. Stay tuned for a link and details on how you might contribute if God so leads!

Some of you follow the Tour de France and are really big into cycling. Well I'm sorry to say that it's passing 30min from our house but we didn't go to see any of it. We're not really big into cycling 🤷‍♂️. But, Mary got to go to a friend's birthday this afternoon after church. Her friend lives in a tiny village 10min from us. Lots of scenic spots everywhere you look.

Happy 4th of July! Here we're celebrating with some BBQ. But we're also enjoying just living in the French countryside. Farmers, local hotdogs, and other great sights. And you know you live in farm country when someone drives their tractor to the grocery store.
