English-speaking Unitarian Universalists have met in Paris since the 1950s, and this fellowship was established in the 80’s. Unitarian Universalism is a faith that embraces a wide range of religious beliefs. Some of our members are from Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, or Pagan backgrounds, while others identify with other faith traditions. As a result, while we have no required creed, we treat as a s
acred value - the complete and responsible freedom of speech, thought, belief, faith, and disposition. Unitarian Universalists believe that each person is free to search for his or her own personal truth on issues, such as the existence, nature, and meaning of life, deities, creation, and afterlife. Some of our members are from intercultural and inter-religious relationships that seemed to be “neither fish nor fowl”. We welcome theists, humanists, atheists, and agnostics, and many who resonate with the insights of poets, mystics and thoughtful human beings across the ages. We are brave, curious, and compassionate thinkers and doers. We are diverse in faith, ethnicity, history and spirituality, but aligned in our desire to make a difference for the good. We have a track record of standing on the side of love, justice, and peace. We have radical roots and a history as self-motivated spiritual people: we think for ourselves and recognize that life experiences influence our beliefs more than anything else. We are people of many beliefs and backgrounds: people with a religious background, people with none, people who believe in a God, people who don’t, and people who simply let the mystery be. We are Unitarian Universalist and Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Humanist, Jewish, Muslim, Pagan, atheist and agnostic, believers in God, and more. On the forefront of Le***an, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Q***r inclusion for more than 40 years, we are people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. We seek to welcome you: your whole self, with all your truths and your doubts, your worries and your hopes. Join us on this extraordinary adventure of faith. All are welcome here.
