Why the Crucifixion?
When a person died on a cross, the following things often happened to him 1 / whipped (Matthew, chapter 27) 26; Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified. 27; Then the governor's soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium, and gathered the whole garrison together against him. 28; And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. 29; And they platted a crown of thorns and put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they bowed the knee before him. And they mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! 30; And they spat upon him, and took the reed and smote him on the head. 31; And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him. 32; And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: To carry his crossThey forced him. 33; And when they came to a place called Golgotha, which means Place of a Skull, 34; They offered him wine mixed with gall; He tasted it and did not want to drink it. 35; And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take You left: 36; There they sat and watched him. 37; They put the charge that Jesus is the King of the Jews. 38; At that time two thieves, one on the right and one on the left, were crucified with him 2 / Carries the cross (John 19): 17; And they took Jesus, and led him away. And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: 18; And they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst. 19; And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the crossPut it this way: The text. The king of the Jews was Jesus of Nazareth. 20; Many of the Jews read this writing, because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city. In Hebrew It was written in Roman and Greek. 3 / Pain anesthesia Proverbs 31: 6 "Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts." "They offered him wine mixed with gall to drink, but he did not like it." (Matthew 27:34) 4 / Nails "The other disciples said to him," We have seen the Lord. " (John 20:25) 5 / Crime will be written and posted “And Pilate wrote a title alsoHe put it on the cross, The text. The king of the Jews was Jesus of Nazareth. " (John 19:19) (Colossians 2) 14; He also abolished the record of those who were against us. He was nailed to a cross and taken away. 15; He stripped them of their power and authority, and showed them victory over them. 6 / They share the clothes of the crucified man "Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also the coat. (John 19:23) 7 / It was not by shedding the blood of the crucified man "And Pilate marveled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while deadIs it too late? He asked. (Mark 15:44) (John 19) 31; And the Jews also asked Pilate, that they might take him by force, and cast him down. 32; And the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who was crucified with him. 33; But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: 34; But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear; Immediately blood and water came out. Does the Cross of Christ Teach Peace? 1 / The cross is the word of salvation. (1 Corinthians chap. 1) 17; For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel. It is not in the wisdom of the word that the cross of Christ should not be in vain. 18; The word of the cross to those who are perishingFoolishness, for it is God's power to save us. 19; For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20; Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the detective in this world? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21; For it became the will of God to save those who believe in the foolishness of preaching, because the world did not know God in its wisdom. 22; The Jews ask for a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom. 23; But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; This is a stumbling block to the Jews, and a foolish thing to the Gentiles. 24; But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25; God is more foolish than manFor the weakness of God is stronger than men. (Colossians, chapter 1) 19-20; For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 21-22; And now, having reconciled you to God in one body by the death of the body, 2 / The cross is a word of reconciliation. (Ephesians, chapter 2) 14-15; For he is our peace. He who unites the two, breaks down the law of commandments, and breaks down the wall of enmity between them. This will also create peace for the two of them to create a new person on their ownTo: 16; That he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 3 / The cross is an obscene word. (1 Corinthians chap. 1) 18; For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 23; But we preach Christ crucified; This is a stumbling block to the Jews, and a foolish thing to the Gentiles. 24; But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25; For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 4 / The cross is the word of redemption. "Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;" (Romans 3:25) "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us; for it is written," Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree. " (Galatians 3:13) (Romans 6) 1; What shall we say then? Should we persevere in sin so that grace may abound? no I do not. 2;How can we, who died for sin, live in it? 3; Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4; We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. 5; And if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will also be united with him in a resurrection like his 6; We know that the old man has been crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bo***ge to sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. 7-8; But if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him; 9; Lest Christ should rise from the dead, and dieAnd we know that death will not rule over him. 10; For he that is dead is freed from sin. But to live is to live for God. 11; Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 5 / Crucifixion is a word of holiness. "I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." (Galatians 2:20) "Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires." (Galatians 5:24) "Except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, where the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world."Let another boast in me. " (Galatians 6:14)
