Protest Letter โ Urgent Call to Stop Attacks Against Ethiopians in South Africa
Honorable Leaders of the Government of South Africa,
Distinguished Representatives of the People, and Esteemed Community Leaders,
Peace be upon you.
The value of human life is above all else. This principle stands as the foundation of humanity, beyond any difference. With this understanding, I write this letter with deep sorrow, concern, and a strong sense of human compassion.
The repeated attacks, killings, and destruction of property against Ethiopians living in your country are deeply heartbreaking. These incidents not only harm the body but also wound the soul and undermine the very principles of humanity.
Ethiopians living in South Africa are hardworking, law-abiding, and valuable contributors to your society. Many of them have endured great hardship and struggle, and through relentless effort, they strive to improve their lives. They are engaged in trade, services, and various professions, making meaningful contributions to your economy. Moreover, they consider your country as their second home and desire to live in peace and mutual respect with your communities.
However, today these brothers and sisters of yours are living in fear. The daily attacks have made their lives uncertain and unsafe. This situation not only contradicts the principles of law and justice but also threatens the foundation of peace and unity within your nation.
Therefore, with respect and clarity, I humbly urge that the following actions be taken urgently:
โข That all forms of attacks against Ethiopians be stopped immediately;
โข That security forces protect all residents equally without discrimination;
โข That justice processes be carried out swiftly and perpetrators be held accountable;
โข That social reconciliation and unity programs be strengthened;
โข That xenophobia be addressed and reduced through education and awareness efforts.
For a better world, people must live together with respect and love. Hatred do
