✨ LA PIEDAD ✨
La Piedad, obra de José Juan González realizada en 1945, fue adquirida por la Real Hermandad de Jesús Nazareno gracias a un préstamo de 9.000 pesetas concedido ese mismo año por el cofrade D. Cayetano Fernández, permitiendo así sufragar el coste de la imagen.
Con motivo de su bendición, fue la propia Hermandad quien ofreció el paso en custodia al rector de la Basílica de Nuestra Señora de la Encina, donde permaneció hasta su incorporación al patrimonio procesional de la corporación.
La composición mantiene la iconografía del Calvario y, posteriormente, la de la Conducción al Sepulcro, representando uno de los momentos de mayor dolor y recogimiento de la Pasión de Cristo.
Desde el año 2023, el paso procesiona incorporando el Sudario, la corona de espinas y los clavos a los pies de las imágenes, elementos que enriquecen la composición y refuerzan el simbolismo de la Pasión.
Más de ocho décadas después de su creación, La Piedad continúa siendo uno de los grandes referentes patrimoniales, artísticos y devocionales de la Real Hermandad de Jesús Nazareno.

✨ THE PIETÀ ✨
The Pietà, a work by José Juan González created in 1945, was commissioned by the Royal Brotherhood of Jesus the Nazarene. Its cost was covered through a loan of 9,000 pesetas generously granted that same year by the brother D. Cayetano Fernández.
At the blessing ceremony, it was the Brotherhood itself that entrusted the float to the Rector of the Basilica of Our Lady of La Encina for its safekeeping, where it remained until becoming part of the Brotherhood's processional heritage.
The composition preserves the iconography of Calvary and, later, that of the Entombment of Christ, portraying one of the most moving and contemplative moments of Christ's Passion.
Since 2023, the float has processed with the Holy Shroud, the Crown of Thorns, and the Nails placed at the feet of the figures, elements that enrich the composition and reinforce the symbolism of the Passion.
More than eight decades after its creation, The Pietà continues to be one of the great artistic, historical, and devotional treasures of the Royal Brotherhood of Jesus the Nazarene.
