يقول القديس مكاريوس الكبير:
الذي غيَّر طبيعة الخمسة أرغفة وصيَّرها أرغفة كثيرة،
وأنطق طبيعة الحمار غير العاقل،
وجاء بالزانية إلى العفة (يو ٨)،
وجعل طبيعة النار المحرقة بردًا على الذين كانوا في الأتون،
ومن أجل دانيال لطَّف طبيعة الأسود الكاسرة،
كذلك يقدر أن يغَّير النفس التي أقفرت وتوحشت بالخطية،
ويحولها إلى صلاحه ورأفاته وسلامه
بروح الموعد المقدس الصالح.
إله السلام يحفَظُكُم سالمين. أمين
Saint Macarius the Great says:
He who transformed the nature of the five loaves and multiplied them,
and gave speech to the nature of the irrational donkey,
and brought the adulteress to chastity (John 8),
and turned the nature of consuming fire into coolness for those in the furnace,
and, for Daniel’s sake, softened the nature of ferocious lions—
He is likewise able to transform the soul made desolate and savage by sin,
and turn it toward His goodness, compassion, and peace,
through the Holy and Good Spirit of Promise.
