Have you ever felt like a spiritual fraud?

When we look at the high standard of Christ’s love and compare it to our own imperfect, stumbling efforts, our conscience often attacks us. We feel inadequate. We feel hypocritical.

So, what do we do when our own hearts condemn us?

In our latest deep-dive into 1 John 3:19–24, we discover the ultimate cure for self-condemnation. We don't look inward at our flawed performance for peace—we look upward. God is greater than our hearts, and He knows all things.

Dive into this week's lesson to discover:
How to appeal a condemning conscience to the "Supreme Court" of God's grace.

The base of our boldnes when approaching the Lord in prayer.

The inseparable command to fiercely believe the truth AND fiercely love the church.

Stop letting fickle emotions dictate your assurance. Anchor your soul in the omniscience of God today.📖

"Good works, love and acts of mercy are the indicators of a transformed heart, evidences of our salvation. They are the RESULTS of the Gospel.

But don't be mistaken, religious activity and good works are not the Gospel! The person and work of Jesus Christ is the Gospel. He is the Good News."

Is Your Love Limited to Your Words?

In 1 John 3:16–18, we find the definitive description of true love. It isn't a vague feeling; it is a concrete action.

John tells us: "This is how we have come to know love: He laid down his life for us." But he doesn't stop there. He warns that if we see a brother in need and "close our hearts" against him, we cannot claim that the love of God resides in us.

Points to Ponder:
The Pattern of the Cross: The Cross is our only dictionary for the word "Love." If your love costs you nothing, it may not be Christlike love.

The Wallet Test: John moves from "dying for others" to "sharing with others." Are you willing to open your resources for the family of God?

Action over Speech: Saying "I'll pray for you" is vital, but if you have the means to help and choose not to, that speech lacks "truth."

This Week’s Challenge:
Don't just love with your tongue. Identify a believer in your local church or community who is in need and take a concrete action to help them.

"When a missionary decides to obey the Scriptures in both areas in love for their neighbors, but then actually loses support from churches, this is not only tragic, it is madness! The Gospel must always remain the main thing, of course, but we must also learn to walk in the good works that God prepared ahead of time for us to do (Ephesians 2.10.) We are told to love, but not only in word, but in deed as well (1 John 3.18), and that our faith without works is dead. (James 2.26)

Dare I say that when we justify our lack of compassion by saying that the greatest act of love is sharing the Gospel with people (which is indeed true), some may be attempting to hide some real laziness and apathy. May the Lord guard our hearts from such things and give us grace to do that which is most important without neglecting the other necessary commands."

Are We Discernment-Minded or Just Cynical?

There is a massive difference between a false teacher who needs to be exposed and a starving sheep who simply needs to be fed. One is a perpetrator; the other is a victim.

In this latest article, "The Burden of the Middle Ground," I challenge the sound church to look past some of the academic "polish" and see the spiritual reality of our brothers and sisters in developing nations. We must despise the error, but we must never stop loving the sheep.

Not Ashamed of the Gospel: The Work in Chachopo 🇻🇪

In the high-altitude community of Chachopo, Mérida, the de Chachopo Baptist Church stands in a unique position. It is the only evangelical church in a region with deeply rooted Catholic traditions.

However, the Lord is doing a remarkable work through this small congregation. By reaching out to their neighbors with a level of love and practical service that the community has never experienced before, they are making a profound impact.

Alejandro and the congregation are preaching the Christ, but they are not just preaching Christ; they are living out the message, acting as "Salt and Light" in a way that the entire community is beginning to notice.

Ministry Highlights:
Evangelism and Compassion: "We conducted home visits to several of our regular contacts. By God’s grace, we were able to share the Gospel and provide food bags to families in need. We also had the privilege of blessing Mrs. Asunción Ramírez, a woman of very limited means who joined us for our Sunday service, with a food package."

Medical Outreach: "Neighbors continue to visit the church seeking medicine and basic healthcare assistance. This has become a wonderful, ongoing opportunity to share the hope of Christ with those who might not otherwise step through our doors."

Open Doors for the Gospel: "During our Sunday service, we were visited by Mr. Juan Andrade (the father of our dear sister Nicol). Though he is a Catholic, he shared that he truly enjoys visiting us, especially to hear the sermons.”

How You Can Pray:
For the Opening of Blinded Eyes: Pray specifically for Mr. Juan Andrade—that the Lord would take away the veil from his heart, grant him repentance unto life, through faith in Christ.

For Boldness in the Face of Opposition: Pray for Alejandro and the Chachopo congregation to be granted "all boldness" to speak the Word. Pray that they would remain "steadfast and unmovable" in a community where they are the sole evangelical presence.

For the Word to Have Free Course: Pray that the Word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored through their service. Pray that their deeds of love would "silence the ignorance of foolish men" and point the people of Mérida to the true Gospel of Grace.

Soli Deo Gloria

This video captures a moment of corporate Scripture recitation. In many congregations, this is a practice used to ground the people in the truths of God's Word.

By reciting Romans 6, the congregation is publicly declaring their spiritual union with Christ. They are affirming that their identity is no longer defined by their past sins or their failures, but by the death and resurrection of Jesus and that they are no longer enslaved to sin. It is a powerful display of a local body of believers anchoring their faith in the finished work of Christ.

This specific passage is the "heart" of the doctrine of sanctification. It explains that the believer's union with Christ isn't just a legal idea; it's a spiritual reality.

"For if we have been united with him in the likeness of his death, we will certainly also be in the likeness of his resurrection. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be rendered powerless so that we may no longer be enslaved to sin, since a person who has died is freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him, because we know that Christ, having been raised from the dead, will not die again. Death no longer rules over him. For the death he died, he died to sin once for all time; but the life he lives, he lives to God."- Romas 6:5-10

THE MISSION ISN'T JUST FOR THE "PROS" 🌍

Have you ever felt like the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) was a job for "professional" missionaries or pastors, but not necessarily for you?

In our latest article, "The Great Commission & Intentionally Making Disciples," we strip away the religious jargon and get back to the hillside in Galilee. We look at:

✅ Why Jesus’ authority is the only foundation that matters.
✅ The "Four-Generation Vision" of 2 Timothy 2:2.
✅ A practical, 10-step guide to starting a discipleship relationship this week.

Discipleship isn't a church program; it’s a lifestyle of moving toward people with the love of Christ. Whether you feel "unqualified" or just don't know where to start, this study is for you.
