The EUD Mid-Year Executive Committee Meeting (May 2026, Germany) focused on aligning church leadership around mission. Leaders emphasized spiritual vision, reported positive financial growth, and introduced a new strategy, “I Will Seek Your Good,” centered on spiritual renewal, identity in Christ, unity, and active mission. A major highlight was the global OneVoice27 initiative, combining digital and local evangelism toward 2027. The meeting concluded with a strong conviction that administration should serve as a tool for advancing mission.

May 20, 1506: Christopher Columbus, who saw himself as a missionary, not just an explorer, dies impoverished in Spain at age 55. "I hope in our Lord that it will be the greatest honor to Christianity that, unexpectedly, has ever come about," he concluded in the log of his first voyage to the Americas.

Christopher Columbus, the intrepid Italian explorer, embarked on a historic voyage across the Atlantic in 1492 and opened up new horizons for European exploration and colonization.

May 20, 325: Emperor Constantine convenes the first Ecumenical Council in Nicaea (now Iznik), Bithynia, to discuss Arianism, a heresy arguing that Christ was subordinate to God the Father. "I entreat you," Constantine said at the opening of the Council of Nicea, "to remove the causes of dissension among you and to establish peace." The council attempted to resolve the bitter conflict by anathematizing Arius (Arianism's founder) and ordering the burning of all his books, but the conflict continued to rage for decades.

The First Council of Nicaea[5] was a council of Christian bishops convened in the Bithynian city of Nicaea (now İznik, Turkey) by the Roman Emperor Constantine I, also known as the First Ecumenical Council. It met from May until the end of July 325.[6]

WITH THIS SONG I WANT TO ENCOURAGE YOU AND BUILD YOU UP TO FOLLOW JESUS! God bless you! 😁👍🏻

I’ve had it with the way of this world
I’ve spent my last day chasing those lies
And now I want the world to hear me say
Jesus is the way (Jesus is the way)

I’ve had it with the schemes of the devil
He ain’t got no grip on me
Let the gates of hell tremble when I say
Jesus is the way (Jesus is the way)

You are the way
You’re the only way
For the saint, for the sinner
For the world today

You are the way
And I will follow You
Cause Jesus only You
Are the life the truth
The way

So, where You lead that’s where I’m going
Lord, I’ve got my eyes locked on You
Remind my heart if I start to stray
Jesus is the way
Jesus is the way

You are the way
You’re the only way
For the saint, for the sinner
For the world today

You are the way
And I will follow You
‘Cause Jesus only You
Are the life the truth
The way

You are the way out of the darkness
You are the way out of the storm
You are the way out of the broken
Just like You’ve been before

You are the way through the valley
You are the way on high
You make the way before me
So, I will testify

You are the way
You’re the only way
For the saint, for the sinner
For the world today

You are the way
And I will follow You
Cause Jesus only You
Are the life the truth

The way
You are the way
You’re the life the truth
The way

May 19, 1805: Joshua V. Himes, best known for promoting William Miller's Second Advent movement, is born. Miller predicted the Second Coming between 1843 and 1844. When this did not happen, many followers deserted; others reorganized themselves as Seventh-Day Adventists.

Joshua V. Himes, minister and radical reformer, became “the principal promoter, manager, and financier”1 of the Second Advent or Millerite movement of the 1840s and figured prominently in two denominations that emerged out of that movement.

Dan Serns, a seasoned Seventh-day Adventist pastor and church planting leader, presents a vision of a healthy, mission-driven church rooted in Acts 2. He emphasizes that renewal begins with spiritual transformation, not programs, and that every believer is called to lead others to Jesus. A healthy church combines worship with small, relational groups focused on “upreach,” “inreach,” and “outreach,” where lives are transformed and disciples are made. By empowering members, sharing leadership, and sending people into mission, the church becomes a growing, outward-focused movement centered on Christ, where authentic community fosters healing and spiritual growth.

In this presentation, Dan Serns calls churches back to the original vision of the New Testament church as described in Acts 2. He highlights that revitalizat...

CALLED TO LOVE

“Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil.” [1 Corinthians 13:4, 5.] Troubles exist between brethren in the church because they fail to understand what constitutes true Christian charity, brotherly affections, and Christlike love. Self-love, self-esteem lead professed Christians to measure themselves by themselves. They take for granted that all their surmisings and suspicions of others are correct. But it is because of suspicions and judging of one another that there is discord, strife, and an unhealthy condition of the church. 7LtMs, Ms 24, 1892, par. 1

If brethren would meet together once or twice a week, and with humble minds, feeling their weakness and realizing their defects, then would ask the Lord to enlighten their understanding and fill their hearts with His love, examining not one another, but the Scriptures, Satan would be defeated. Many imaginary difficulties, mere mole hills that have been magnified into mountains and have made barriers between brethren, would vanish, and love, compassion, and respect would take the place of jangling and accusation. When you begin to judge your brethren, you are doing a work God has not given you to do. You are not working with Christ. God did not place you upon the judgment seat to measure and pronounce sentence upon your brethren. 7LtMs, Ms 24, 1892, par. 2

God bless you! 😁👍🏻

Good Words Bring Joy to the Heart

“Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.” — Book of Proverbs 12:25

Let us not gather together all the unpleasant pictures — iniquities, corruptions, disappointments, evidences of Satan’s power — to hang them upon the walls of memory, speaking and lamenting over them until everyone becomes utterly discouraged. […]

Thank God, brighter and more encouraging scenes are presented to us by the Lord. Let us gather the blessed assurances of His love as precious treasures so that we may continually contemplate them. The Son of God leaving His Father’s throne, clothing His divinity with humanity so that He might rescue humanity from the power of Satan; His triumph on our behalf, opening heaven to humanity and revealing to human eyes the place where Divinity manifests His glory; the fallen race lifted from the abyss into which sin had plunged it and brought again into connection with the infinite God; having endured the divine test through faith in our Redeemer, clothed with the righteousness of Christ and exalted to His throne — these are the pictures God asks us to keep in the deepest chambers of our minds.

“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty One who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness. He will renew you in His love; He will rejoice over you with singing.” — Book of Zephaniah 3:17

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable — if there is any virtue and if there is anything worthy of praise — think about these things.” — Epistle to the Philippians 4:8

What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building. (1 Corinthians 3:5-9)

Voices of Faith and Vision: Adventist Missionaries Who Made History explores the lives and legacy of pioneering Seventh-day Adventist missionaries whose faith, courage, and vision helped shape the global Adventist movement. The book highlights men and women who crossed cultural, linguistic, and geographical barriers to spread Christianity, establish schools and hospitals, and build churches in regions where Adventism was largely unknown. Through historical narratives and biographical sketches, it presents missionary work not merely as institutional expansion, but as a deeply personal commitment marked by sacrifice, perseverance, and spiritual conviction. The volume also places these missionaries within the broader development of Adventist global mission during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, showing how their efforts contributed to transforming a small American movement into a worldwide church.
