By an act of faith, Ray LeGrand and his family, said yes to God's call to go to Hamburg, Germany. They sold nearly everything they owned, left friends, family and everything familiar behind, July 2016.

The LeGrand's didn't come to Europe to bring religion and build a building, but are here for people, primarily people i
n the Heavy Metal scene. They are here to build community among those who already follow Jesus in the Heavy Metal scene in Hamburg, Germany. Our focus also expands out from Hamburg and to the European Heavy Metal Scene. We are to here support MetalHeads, the fans and the bands, spiritually, with a on focus disciple-making, and engaging those who don't know Jesus. We want to make disciples of Jesus who aren't into religion or just talk about God, but be the "real deal" disciples of Jesus Christ, knowing The Word of God & understand what it means & living it. We want to build communities who passionately pray, who are committed to lives of intimacy with God, who build up other believers and by joining Jesus on adventure to those who don’t yet belong to His family. Sanctuary Germany wants to be a community that comes together, but also reaches beyond by putting on concerts, festival, events, small group hangouts, and more. The LeGrand's have been in Hamburg since mid-July of 2016 and are working hard to get settled, learning Deutsch and building a network of relationships, both locally in Hamburg and throughout the European Metal Scene.
