Nosotros los fieles y ministros de la comunidad de San Andrés en Cuba, agradecemos a todos nuestros hermanos de Chicago, Canadá, Estados Unidos entre otros, que nos ayudaron e hicieron llegar los utensilios liturgicos que robaron en la Iglesia así como los dineros para la protección y seguridad de la Iglesia. Agradecemos a todos los que coordinaron, donaron, apoyaron y viajaron hasta Cuba para que se lograra el objetivo. Dios multiplique, provea y se acuerde y llene de Bendiciones a todos ustedes.

We, the faithful and ministers of the community of St. Andrew in Cuba, thank all our brothers and sisters in Chicago, Canada, the United States, and elsewhere, who helped us by sending the liturgical items stolen from the Church, as well as the funds for the Church's protection and security. We thank all those who coordinated, donated, supported, and traveled to Cuba to make this possible. May God multiply, provide, remember, and fill you all with blessings. Εμείς, οι πιστοί και οι λειτουργοί της κοινότητας του Αγίου Ανδρέα στην Κούβα, ευχαριστούμε όλους τους αδελφούς και τις αδελφές μας στο Σικάγο, τον Καναδά, τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες και αλλού, που μας βοήθησαν στέλνοντάς μας τα λειτουργικά είδη που κλάπηκαν από την Εκκλησία, καθώς και τα κεφάλαια για την προστασία και την ασφάλεια της Εκκλησίας. For those who want to help replace the stolen items in the church of San Andres, here is a list of the missing items:

Cáliz (chalice or Communion Cup)
Patena o discos (trays )
Cucharilla (golden spoon for Communion)
Lanza. (knife that cuts the Proskomedie)
Asteriscos o estrella (star for the bread)
2 candelabros del altar. (two candelambras for the altar)
1 candelabros de 7 brazos. (one large candelambra with 7 branches)
Aeras y Kalimatas. (coverings and the Aer for the descent of Holy Spirit)
Porta velas para la procesión (candle holders for the procession)
2 porta lámparas para encender las velas (two smaller candlelambras to light the larger ones)

1 juego de ornamento sacerdotal. (a set of ornamental coverings for the Holy Cups)
Reliquia/ piedra del Santo Sepulcro. : a relic the stone from the Holy Sepulchre to consecrate the altar
Zeón para agua caliente. the golden zeon cup to mix the water and wine for Communion
Manteles de Altar y Proscomidia. (table cloths for the altar and Proskomedie)

Se necesitan $ 1500 dólares para hacer 4 puertas y rejas para la protección de la Iglesia. $1500 is necessary to install 4 doors with heavy metal bars to protect the church from further theft.

Dear Fellow Christians,

If you are not yet aware, the Mission of San Andres Church was robbed two weeks ago. Robbers jumped off the next door roof and in the early morning managed to take most of the liturgical objects including the Paten, gold platter, candelambras, the reliquary in the altar of the stone from the Holy Sepulchre, many embroidered tablecloths, the Zeon, the golden vessel to mix wine and water for Holy Communion, as well as the kitchen range, the tea kettle and other objects.

In essence, the church is not functional. No liturgies can take place because those sacred objects used in the ceremony are missing.

We are looking to replace the items. As administrator and secretary I am setting up a Give-Send-Go campaign for their needs. If you wanted to help out please consider donating. Even $1 goes a long way. What would deter more theft is for the church to install iron gates with bars in the main doors. See photo below.

The fuel embargo to Cuba has caused more inconvenience: entire neighborhoods go without electricity and gas for 8-12 hours a day! Sewage and garbage litter the streets.

Another way to help is by pitching in as a parish to order groceries for the church. Go to www.supermarket23.com and create an an order. I have been doing this and can verify that they deliver and is not a scam. Pater Evangelos information for delivery of the order is:

Hoy 8 de noviembre según calendario eclesiástico, nos reunimos para celebrar la Fiesta de las Santas Potestades Incorporeas en nuestra comunidad de San Andrés apóstol en Cuba. Por muchos años a todos nuestros clérigos, hermanos y fieles, especialmente al diácono Gabriel, Gabrielito y Angélica María en su onomástico hoy.
Que El Señor, Creador del Cielo y de la tierra, nos proteja por medio de sus ángeles y nos tenga Misericordia!

Today, November 8th, according to the ecclesiastical calendar, we gather to celebrate the Feast of the Holy Incorporeal Powers in our community of Saint Andrew the Apostle in Cuba. We extend our best wishes for many years to all our clergy, brothers, and faithful, especially to Deacon Gabriel, Gabrielito, and Angelica Maria on their name day today. May the Lord, Creator of Heaven and Earth, protect us through His Holy Angels and have mercy on us!

Bendiga a los niños y estudiantes de nuestra misión en Cuba; Él, que es el dueño del Conocimiento y la Sabiduría, derrame sus dones sobre ellos para que sean hombres y mujeres de bien y que sean estandartes de la Fe Ortodoxa y pongan cual sea que fuere su vocación el día de mañana, al servicio del prójimo, de su Iglesia y para Mayor Gloria de Dios!

May our Lord Jesus Christ, who said, "Let the little children come to me" (Luke 18:16-17), bless the children and students of our mission in Cuba. May He, the Lord of Knowledge and Wisdom, bestow His gifts upon them so that they may become good men and women, standard-bearers of the Orthodox Faith, and whatever their vocation may be in the future, serve their neighbors, their Church, and for the Greater Glory of God!
Είθε ο Κύριός μας Ιησούς Χριστός, που είπε: «Αφήστε τα παιδιά να έρθουν σε μένα» (Λουκάς 18:16-17), να ευλογήσει τα παιδιά και τους μαθητές της ιεραποστολής μας στην Κούβα. Είθε Αυτός, ο Κύριος της Γνώσης και της Σοφίας, να τους χαρίσει τα χαρίσματά Του, ώστε να γίνουν καλοί άνδρες και γυναίκες, σημαιοφόροι της Ορθόδοξης Πίστης, και όποια κι αν είναι η κλίση τους στο μέλλον, να υπηρετούν τους πλησίον τους, την Εκκλησία τους και για τη Μεγαλύτερη Δόξα του Θεού!
