Tibetan Nuns

Tibetan Nuns This page is dedicated to Tibetan nunneries in the Himalayas region. Buddhist nuns have not had the same access to education and resources as monks.

You can ask for meditation practice and prayers for your benefit or the benefit of another person. The Tibetan Nuns aim to elevate the educational standards and the position of women. Currently, the Tibetan Nuns Project supports over 300 nuns and five nunneries in north India, Nepal, and Tibet, as well as nuns living on their own and in retreat. Over 30 years ago, many nuns began escaping from Tib

et in search of religious and educational freedom. The majority of the nuns were destitute and illiterate, and they arrived in a refugee community already struggling to survive. These dedicated women wanted to live, study, practice, and teach in accordance with their spiritual beliefs. Ways to Support the Nuns:
Sponsor A Nun and provide the basic necessities to a nun for just $1 a day. Whit thousand years of tradition and powerful lineage this is the way to overcome problems like death, sickness, poverty, and misfortunes which from time to time we face.

Dalai lama 3.5.2022

My own mother was essentially kind. She was particularly kind to me, at the time her youngest child. There was no school in our village and she was illiterate, yet she was naturally kind. I had no toys to play with, but instead rode on her shoulders as she went about her work in the fields or with our animals. We, her children, never saw an angry expression on her face. She was kind to us, kind to our neighbours. When victims of famine came to the door, she always found them something to eat. It's because of her that I am the happy, smiling person I am today.
