Sunday blessings from UMC Carmel Parish in Minkoa-Meyos Yaoundé🙏 Today we gathered together as a family of faith for our worship service, opening our hearts to God's word through the First Reading from Exodus 12:1-14 and the Second Reading from Romans 13:8-14, with the Gospel drawn from Matthew 18:15-20. Our Introit reminded us of the beauty of unity, declaring "How wonderful it is, how pleasant, for God's people to live together in harmony! That is where the Lord has promised His blessings, life that never ends" (Psalm 133:1,3).

One of the most touching moments of the service was our Special Moment, where our beloved children were called forward as our clergy prayed over them ahead of the new school year. With the back-to-school season here, we lifted them up in prayer, asking God to grant them wisdom, strength, focus, and protection as they return to their classrooms. It was such a joy to see them gathered together, dressed in their best, standing before the church to receive this blessing and encouragement from our pastors and the entire congregation.

We give God thanks for another beautiful Sunday of worship, fellowship, and community, and we continue to pray for every child stepping back into school this season, that they may excel in their studies and grow in faith and character. May God's favor go before all our children this academic year.

CARMEL YOUTHS AT SILO 2026 — PRESENT, ACTIVE & ENGAGED!

What an incredible three days it has been! From the very beginning to the closing moments of SILO 2026, the youths of Carmel were fully present, actively participating, and making their presence felt.

We showed up with energy, commitment, enthusiasm, and a heart ready to learn and serve. From sports and devotion to teachings, breakout sessions, group discussions, presentations, and fellowship, our youths were not just spectators we were actively involved every step of the way! 💪🏽

We shared ideas, asked questions, learned from one another, built new connections, encouraged our peers, and proudly represented Carmel throughout the gathering.

SILO 2026 was a beautiful reminder that when young people come together with faith, purpose, unity, and determination, we can create meaningful impact.

A huge congratulations to every Carmel youth who showed up, participated, contributed, and made these days memorable.

We came. We participated. We connected. We learned. We served. And together, we rose and built!

EMPOWERING THE NEXT GENERATION OF CHANGE MAKERS

One of Carmel’s own youths had the opportunity to share a powerful teaching at SILO 2026, inspiring young people to recognize their potential and embrace their role in shaping the future.

Through this teaching, we were reminded that young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow we are the change-makers of today. ❤️

It is beautiful to see the youth of Carmel stepping forward, sharing their knowledge, inspiring others, and using their gifts to impact lives.

🔥 SILO 2026 — DAY TWO: A DAY OF LEARNING, REFLECTION & GROWTH! 🙏🏽

Day Two of SILO 2026 was filled with meaningful activities, thought-provoking teachings, open discussions, and moments of reflection as our youths continued to learn, connect, and grow together. ❤️‍🔥

🌅 We began the day with devotion, committing the day and all our activities into God’s hands and preparing our hearts for everything ahead.

📱 Teaching on Cyber Dependency
Our youths had an important and timely teaching on cyber dependency, exploring how young people increasingly depend on their phones, social media, and digital spaces. The session encouraged us to reflect on our relationship with technology and how we can use it wisely without allowing it to control our lives.

🤝🏽 Breakout Sessions
The teaching was followed by breakout sessions, giving participants the opportunity to share their thoughts, experiences, and perspectives in smaller groups.

🌍 Empowering the Next Generation of Change-Makers in Cameroon
We also had an inspiring session focused on empowering young people to become change-makers in Cameroon reminding us that the future of our communities and nation depends on young people who are willing to learn, lead, innovate, and take action. 🇨🇲🔥

📊 Parish Reports & Entrepreneurship Initiative Follow-Up
The presidents of the different parishes came forward to present reports on the activities carried out following the Entrepreneurship Initiative Conference held at United Methodist Church Jerusalem Parish, Douala. It was a valuable opportunity to reflect on the progress made and share experiences from the different parishes.

🗣️ Youth Discussions on Male & Female Development
Later, the youths engaged in separate discussions for boys and girls, creating a comfortable space to openly discuss male and female development, experiences, challenges, responsibilities, and personal growth.

📖 Reading of Parish Youth Reports
Reports from the different parish youth groups were also presented, giving everyone a broader picture of the work, activities, achievements, and experiences of youths across the various parishes.

📋 President’s Report & Closing
To bring the day to a close, the President presented his report, after which we officially concluded the day’s activities.

From devotion to teaching, discussions, reports, reflection, and fellowship, Day Two was truly a day of learning, accountability, empowerment, and growth.

SILO 2026 continues to remind us that when young people come together with purpose, faith, and determination, great things can happen.

Day Two is here, and the excitement is only getting stronger! After an energetic start to SILO 2026, we continue this beautiful journey of faith, fellowship, learning, worship, and growth. ✨

Today is another opportunity to come together as young people, strengthen our bonds, share experiences, and most importantly, draw closer to God. 🙏🏽

SILO is not just about gathering in one place it is about building one another, discovering our purpose, encouraging each other, and becoming better vessels for God’s work.

The wait is finally over! Today marks the beginning of SILO 2026, and we are filled with great joy and excitement as we gather together in the presence of God.

From 27th to 30th August 2026, young people from different places will come together for a powerful time of worship, fellowship, prayer, teaching, sharing, and spiritual growth. 🙏🏽

📖 Theme: “Together, Let Us Rise and Build.”

This is more than just an event. It is a call for every young person to rise, take their place, and contribute to building the Kingdom of God. It is a time to strengthen our faith, encourage one another, discover our purpose, and allow God to work in and through us.

Mark your calendars! 📖 Starting Thursday next week, Carmel will be glad to welcome the beautiful youth of the United Methodist Church for our annual youth camp SILO 2026.

Four days of worship, teaching, and fellowship as we come together under the theme "Together, let us rise and build" (Nehemiah 2:18). It's a time to reconnect with God, with each other, and with purpose and UMC Carmel Parish, Minkoameyos, Yaoundé is honored to host it.

My you were chosen to transform your house!

What an incredible Sunday we had at UMC Carmel Parish Yaoundé! Our hearts were lifted in praise and adoration as we gathered together as one family in Christ, ready to receive the Word.

We journeyed through powerful readings that spoke directly to God's faithfulness and purpose over our homes:
📖 Genesis 45:1-15 — Joseph's reconciliation with his brothers, a reminder that God can transform pain into restoration.
📖 Romains 11:1-2, 29-32 — God's gifts and calling are irrevocable; His mercy never runs out.
📖 Matthieu 15:10-28 — Jesus teaches on true purity of heart and honors persistent, unwavering faith.

Through the message and time of prayer, we were reminded that transformation doesn't just happen in church it begins in our homes, in our families, and in our daily walk with God. Every household represented today carries a seed of change planted by His Word.

We give thanks for the testimonies shared, the visitors who joined us, the offerings given in faith, and every hand that made this service beautiful. 🙌

To everyone who came, worshipped, prayed, and believed thank you for being part of what God is doing at Carmel. Let's carry this transformation home with us and watch our households be renewed!
