4 CAMEROONIAN ARTISTS, WHO HAVE "GIVEN THEIR LIVES TO CHRIST".
1. FRANKO
April 30th , 2015, Franko released "Coller La petite" and the success was staggering with 78 million YouTube views. 😲
He received music recording certification "Disque D'or" in France ; meaning the song had a threshold sale of 75.000 copies.
It has been the most downloaded song on MTNZik in Cameroon.
Franko has been Best Artist in Central Africa at Kunde Award in Burkina Faso, had 3 nominations at MTV Music Award in 2016, AFRIMA nominee, AFRIMMA nominee and more .
After "Coller La petite" , his fame has plummeted . He released "Partenaire" in 2018 and the impact was underwhelming. Franko has not released music since then.
Last year, Franko posted that he used to say "Coller la petite" , today he advices everyone to "Coller Jesus", for He is the truth and the life.
2. AMBE
Ambe is reputed for songs like "Rendezvous", "Les filles de Mon pays", "Vitesse" and "Na for Bafut". On April 24th, 2023, the ace singer and songwriter posted a video of himself in a congregation, stating that he is about completing his bible studies.
Ambe opines that " Life in Christ does not stop you from doing what puts food on your table or take care of your loved ones ... Life in Christ simply fine- tunes what you do in other to do it bigger and better, for the benefits of his people and his Glory"
Ambe is presently in the US.
3. MESHI
In July 2022, Cameroonian singer Meshi officially announced she is now "Fully Born Again" and promises to start singing for the glory of God.
The Bamenda-raised artist made a remarkable impact with songs like secular songs like "Medicine", "Come for me" featuring Locko and monster hit "Rembourser" featuring Salatiel. She has released a gospel album album titled "Transformed".
3. LESLINE
LESLINE is a 2015 finalist at the MUTZIGSTAR Competition and laureate of The Voice Afrique Francophone 2016. On February 8, 2021, she announced that;
“I will no longer do secular music, but will only sing for the Glory of God. With an assignment from Luke 4:18, this means henceforth, Lesline will only release and feature in gospel tracks. Preaching the word of God to the world through music, transforming lives as well as winning souls for Christ"
She had released "I Do", "Taking Over" and "My Way" under NikiHeat.
