Tues 24th March, 2026
LENT DAY 30
Gen 22:15-19
*IT PAYS TO OBEY THE LORD EVEN WHEN IT HURTS*
Beloved in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are privileged to be counted among the living this morning. It's not by power nor by might but by the grâce of God. Let us surrender totally to our God this day and allow Him to direct our lives.
This morning, the Holy Spirit wants to remind us of the benefits and reward of obedience to our God. It pays to obey the Lord. When you pass the test by doing what God wants you to do, your God cannot be silent. Unconditional obedience brings honour to our God and when God is honourrd by a man, He honours that man in return. Our passage today is a continuation of the story of yesterday in which we saw Abraham ready to sacrifice His son on Mount Moriah because God said so. It must have been a very emotional moment for Abraham, giving up his own son whom He loved so much, as a sacrifice to the Lord. No matter how difficult and hurting this sacrifice meant to Abraham, He obeyed the Lord. We saw how God Himself provided a ram as replacement for Isaac and Abraham took the ram and offered to God. God was very pleased with Abraham because HE DID NOT WITHOLD HIS ONLY SON FROM HIM. As such, the Lord made a vow to bless Abraham. Hallelujah!! He vowed by His name to richly bless Abraham in many ways:
- To give Him as many descendants as the grains of sand on the seashore
- To make His descendants conquerors over their enemies
- To make him and his descendants famous
- To make them outstanding and enviable to the point where other nations will want to be blessed like them.
All these blessings were pronounced on Abraham by God and sealed with a vow, all because He obeyed the Lord's command.
Beloved in the Lord, it pays to be obedient. Indeed! Obedience brings blessings but disobedience brings disaster. When you obey the Lord faithfully, you receive a great reward from him. It is so unfortunate that sometimes we feel that our blessings will come but from man. So we sometimes fall into the trap of seeking to please man even when it is against the will of God. Do not be deceived. Only God can truly bless us. When God blesses a man, no human being can revoke it. It is sealed by that vow taken in His own name. And you know as scripture tells us that, God honours His word. Once He has spoken, He makes sure that His word is established. If God vows to bless a man, then that man or woman is forever blessed.

Beloved in the Lord, strive to obey the Lord even when it hurts. Remember that Obedience is a choice. You can choose to obey or disobey. The choice is yours. However, the Holy Spirit wants us to submit to the Lord and to obey Him faithfully, so that we can reap this great reward. Therefore, as you go out today, examine yourself. Find out the areas where you have disobeyed the Lord. Turn to Him and ask for Mercy. He will forgive you and take you back to Himself for He is merciful and compassionate. Make up your mind to obey Him faithfully all the days of your life. The song writer says, "it pays to serve Jesus I speak from my heart..... " Indeed, it pays to submit totally to God, witholding nothing from Him because He owns everything. Because Abraham gave his own Son Isaac to God, God rewarded Him with uncountable descendants. When you sacrifice your best to the Lord, He gives it back to you in multiple folds. When you give Him the best of your time, He gives back to you more fruitful years. When you give Him the best of your resources, He gives back to you beyond your imagination. When you choose to give Him your heart, He gives you life in return. May God bless us as we choose to faithfully obey His commands and to withold nothing from Him but to give Him our best. What are you going to offer to the Lord today? Where have you disobeyed the Lord? Can you take a decision today to turn back to the Lord? Just repent and come back to Him as you are and He will cleanse you and restore you to Himself once again. I pray that wherever we have suffered disaster as a result of disobedience, may God show us mercy. As we begin to obey Him unconditionally, may the blessings and reward for obedience be ours in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

LENT DAY 23
Isa 54:7-10
*OUR COMPASSIONATE LORD WILL NEVER ABANDON US FOREVER*
Beloved brothers and sisters in the Lord, welcome to day 23 of our Lent journey, which is also the beginning of a new week. The grace of God has kept us and brought us throughout the weekend. We are grateful to be counted amongst the living and we acknowledge that it is of the Lord's mercies that we are still standing.
Today, the Holy Spirit wants to teach us about the compassionate nature of our God. He is the God of mercy, love and grace. Even when He gets angry, His anger lasts only for a moment but His love for a life time. This morning, our Bible passage reminds us that the Lord our God desires to have fellowship with us and that He will show us compassion. At a time when the children of Israel were suffering exile because of their sins, the Lord promised to restore them again. He acknowledged that for a brief moment He forsook them but that He was going to bring them back with deep compassion. In His anger, He hid his face from them but with everlasting kindness, He will have compassion on them. He made a covenant like in the days of Noah, not to be angry with them again but to show them unfailing Love for ever. Hallelujah!!!
My dear brothers and sisters, this message this morning is for you and me. Sometimes, it really feels as if God has gone far away from us. Sometimes, the challenges, pains and cares of life break us down so much that we keep our eyes waiting for the Lord's help. Sometimes, the devil may even tempt us to think that our God has abandoned us forever. This morning, the Holy Spirit has come to tell us that our compassionate God will never abandon us forever. Though He may seem to be far away sometimes, He is right there with you.
Knowing this truth should keep us focused on our God despite the problems we face. He will soon come to your rescue my dear. Never get discouraged. Do not feel abandoned by the Lord. He will never abandon His own. Even if you have prayed and prayed and yet see no answers, just keep waiting on the Lord. Two things to note as you wait on the Lord:

1) Our sins can provoke God's anger and cause Him to turn His face away from us. We must strive to walk in Holiness so as not to provoke God's anger. Even if the Lord hid His face from you because of your sins, He is ready to show compassion if you repent of your evil ways and come back to Him. God says, "return to me and I will return to you" (Mal 3:7). This is a call for us to come back to the Lord today. Just examine yourself this day and find out where you have turned away from the Lord. Return to Him and He will return to you. He says in our text that, it is with everlasting kindness that He will return to you. Come back to Him now.

2) God has made a covenant of peace with us and it shall not be removed. Hallelujah!! Amidst the wars and rumours of wars, the fightings within and without, we have an assurance that God has amade à covenant of peace with us which shall stand forever. He says, "though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, my unfailing love for you will not be shaken and my covenant of peace will not be removed". I may not know what the mountains may be for you. I may not know what is shaking in your life. I may not know what is giving you unrest even during this period of Lent. Is it trouble in your marriage, home, family, church, relationships, business, academics or career? Just hold onto the Lord our Redeemer. He is full of compassion. He will come to your rescue and restore Peace for He has established a covenant of Peace which cannot be removed. Today, standing on the apostolic foundation, I speak peace to those situations which have brought you unrest. May that peace radiate to the whole world and put an end to the wars that are destroying so many lives today.
As you step out today, use this passage to pray. Remind God of the Promises He has made and watch Him fulfil His word. He honours His word more than His name. He will definitely Honour His word concerning you. Do not be afraid. Do not give up. Keep your hope and faith alive. God is coming to your rescue. Remember that God will not say a thing if He will not do it. Because He has said it, we trust that He will do it. To God be the glory. Amen

Wed 11th March, 2026
LENT DAY 19
Jer 20:7-13
*COMMIT YOUR CAUSE INTO GOD'S HANDS IN PRAYER*
My dear brothers and sisters in the Lord Jesus Christ, welcome to Day 19 of our Lent Journey. Are you grateful to be counted among the living? Then sing a song of appreciation to your God for preserving your life (Thank you my Lord, thank you my Jesus, whatever I am now, it is by your grâce....). Thank you Lord.
Today our Bible passage is inviting us to learn to commit our cause into God's hands. The Hymn writer in CHB 430; William Freeman says, "My times are in thy hands my God I wish them there, my life my friends my soul I leave entirely to thy care". In the second stanza, he says " My times are in thy hands, whatever they may be; pleasing or painful, dark or bright, as best may seem to thee". Yes! This is what we are called to do this morning; To commit our times into God's hands no matter what we may be going through. In our text, we see the Prophet Jeremiah pouring out his heart to God in prayer. Jeremiah was going through a very difficult time in His ministry. The Lord had sent him to go to the valley of Hinnom and prophesy pending disaster upon the nation of Judah and Jerusalem because of their disobedience. The valley of Hinnom was a garbage pit which the people had turned into a place for the worship of idols. They had built altars there to sacrifice to the god Molech and they were burning their children as sacrifices on those altars. God sent the prophet to go and tell them that He was going to bring disaster on them by demonstrating with a shattered clay jar. When Jeremiah finished saying what the Lord asked Him to say, the priest, the chief officer of the Temple, Pashhur ordered that Jeremiah be arrested and severely whipped. So, when Jeremiah was whipped, he was placed in chains and kept near the Benjamin gate. When he was released the next morning, he told Pashhur that God had changed his name to 'terror everywhere'. Jeremiah suffered so much from his people not because of any wrongdoing but because He spoke the true message handed down to Him from the Lord. So, Jeremiah decided to go back to His Lord and cry to Him.
In our text, he started by expressing his frustrations and pain to God. He also expressed his trust and confidence in the Lord. Then He ended by committing His cause into the hands of the Lord (v 12c).
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, commit your cause into God's hands. There are 3 things I will like us to take note of:

1) Even in the will of God, there are challenges. Many people erroneously think that obstacles, delays and difficulties are only experienced when we disobey the Lord. This is not true. There are some challenges that we face just because we are God's children. When you face challenges while walking in God's will, cry to him and seek his help. Jeremiah went back to the Lord and poured his heart out to him. Let us learn to pray in times of trials and seek God's help.

2) Never get too downcast to forget the power and authority in the Lord. Never get too angry to stop your Divine assignment. Ask God for the grace to carry on. Jeremiah confessed that even when he decided that he will not share God's word again, the word of God was burning deep within his bones like fire (v 9). You need to keep doing your assignment trusting God to help you. My dear brother and sister, are you giving up on your adsignment because of challenges? Don't give up. Jeremiah knew that because the Lord was on his side, those who persecute him will fail. They will be disgraced forever because they cannot succeed. Indeed! When God is on your side, those who fight you will only end in disgrace. Just commit your cause into God's hands.

3) God will always deliver His own from oppression. Verse 13 of our text tells us that God rescues the oppressed from the power of evil people. When you commit your cause into God's hands, He fights your battles for you.
I pray that God will give us the grâce to remain steadfast amidst trials and difficulties. May you remain strong and courageous as you face the ordeals of life. I may not know your frusrations as one who has trusted the Lord. I may not know the areas where you are being mocked and insulted for no just cause. I pray for you. May the Lord defend you and prove you innocent in the name of Jesus Christ. Just commit your cause into God's hands and He will fight for you. Amen

LENT DAY 18
Lk 11: 29-32
*STOP SEEKING FOR SIGNS; JUST OBEY GOD'S COMMANDS*
Beloved brothers and sisters in the Lord, it is the 18th day of our Lent journey and our God has been so good to us. We continue to learn more of him and seek ways of drawing closer to Him. This morning, our passage for meditation is a call for us to desire obedience to God's word than seeking miracles, signs and wonders. Jesus is the Miracle worker. It is better to have Jesus in your life, who has the power to do great things. It is so unfortunate that so many people go to church and for prayer programs trusting God to perform miracles for them when they are living in sin and have refused to repent. You can pray in tongues from morning till night; you can even be celebrated as the best prayer warrior in your church; but if you do not live a life of obedience to God's commands, you are wasting your time.
Jesus challenged the crowd of Jews who gathered round Him asking for a miracle. He had just finished teaching them that true happiness was in obeying His commands as we read yesterday. Now, the people who gathered listening to him were asking him to perform a miracle to show that He was from God. Jesus told them that only an evil generation could keep asking for signs, even after all the miracles He had performed. He told them that it is only the Miracle of Jonah that will be given to them. He reminded them that Jonah was a sign to the people of Nineveh that God will show them mercy, as he was in the belly of the fish for three days and three nights. He told them that the Son of man will also be a sign for this evil generation, for as Jonah was in the belly of the fish for three days, so too the Son of man will be in the crust of the earth for three days but will rise from death. By saying this, Jesus was talking about his own death and resurrection but the people did not understand him.
Beloved in the Lord, seek obedience to God's word than signs. It is better to have Jesus in your life. He is the Miracle worker and He can perform any miracle at any time. So, be more interested in obeying his commands than seeking for signs. Jesus is the sign for our generation. When you read about his death and resurrection, just submit to Him for there is no other miracle greater than this. As He was raised to life, so too he shall raise to life all those who died believing in Him.
In our text, Jesus challenged the Jews by telling them of what will happen on judgement day. He told them that the Queen of Sheba will rise and condemn them because she left all the way from the South to go and visit King Solomon to learn from His wisdom and He believed God but they have even seen Jesus who is greater than Solomon but have refused to believe. Also, the people of Nineveh who fasted forty days and nights, weeping and wailing for their sins, repenting from their evil ways after hearing Jonah's call, will also accuse them because they heard Jonah's call and repented. Instead the evil generation in his time had seen he who is greater than Jonah but have refused to believe.
Beloved in the Lord, what do you want to see before you surrender totally to Jesus? Do you really need another miracle? Is the miracle of being alive (at a time when human wickedness is at its peak and people are just dying anyhow) , not enough for you? What else do you want to see before believing? Those who never had the opportunity to hear of Jesus will accuse us on judgment Day for having this privilege and misusing it. I pray that from today, you will surrender totally to God. Stop seeking miracles; seek to obey the Lord faithfully. Scripture tells us in 2 Cor 5:7 that our life is not a matter of sight but faith. May we all surrender to Jesus and seek to do only His will, walking by faith and not by sight. Let us not be too moved by what we see for what we see will not last forever. May God bless you as you seek Him diligently today and always. Let your focus be to obey the Lord and you will see the great things that God will do for you. Our God is the Miracle Worker and so, if He takes his place in your heart, He will do great things for you. Amen

*SUBMIT TO JESUS THE GREATEST AUTHORITY, AND HE WILL DELIVER YOU*
Beloved in the Lord, life is full of battles. We fight both physical and spiritual battles. The physical world is controlled by the Spiritual. Most of the physical battles are orchestrated by evil forces in the spirit realm. Some afflictions and health situations that can even be medically explained may have a strong force of evil manipulation from the pits of hell. That's the reason why prayers must be offered even when medical protocols are followed. As we meditate on Today's message, I pray that God will break every invisible démon responsible for your affliction, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Today we join the women to celebrate on the theme: Rights, Justice, Action for women and girls. This is a call for us to move to action and not just keep talking about the rights of women and young girls especially with the rise in cases of violence against young girls and women. As we celebrate, we pray that the démon fueling violence in your home and family be cast out, in the name of Jesus. Wherever the evil one has sown seeds of discord to scatter your family and destroy you, I pray that that seed of division will dry up, in the name of Jesus Christ. As you celebrate dear women, uphold your dignity. Let your celebration be marked by humility, respect and integrity. May Jesus fight all our battles and deliver us from every demonic possession, in the name of Jesus Christ. May God bless us all. Amen

LENT DAY 16
2 Cor 13:3-6
*EXAMINE YOURSELVES TO KNOW IF YOU ARE TURLY IN THE FAITH*
Beloved brothers and sisters in the Lord, welcome to the foot of the cross where we gather this morning to listen to God. We have come again with great expectations, with eyes lifted up to our God for Him to speak to us. I pray that your mind will be open and you heart cleansed so that the word you receive this morning will truly bring a refreshing upon you, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Beloved brothers and sisters in the Lord, it is the 16th day of our Lent journey and the Holy Spirit wants us all to do an INTROSPECTION. This is a call for an individual Self Examination. You don't need an invigilator for this examination. It is between you alone and your God. It is very important for us to always do a self examination, so that we can be convicted from within about our own errors, faults and failures. When the conviction is from within, it is stronger and has a greater impact. The apostle Paul called on the believers in Corinth, to do a self examination to find out if they were still in the faith. This call is very relevant for us today because there are times when we are physically present in Church but spiritually absent because we are not in the faith. Many people are in the church but not in Christ. So sad!!! Examine yourself.
Beloved in the Lord Jesus Christ, make it a duty to examine yourself. Someone has said that, "a life of self examination is a life of self correction and a life of self correction, is a successful life". As we journey with Jesus in this season of Lent, I pray that you will take out time daily to examine yourself and to find out if you are still in the faith or whether you have departed from the faith. The word of God is the standard for your examination. Find out if you are obeying the commands of God as you ought to? Is Christ Jesus truly living in you? Are you led by the Spirit of God or by the devil? The things you think about, say and do, are they right in God's sight? Have you failed the test?
This morning, I pray that we will all do our best to remain in the faith. If you have failed the test, then, repent and ask God for mercy. Identify the areas of your weaknesses and call on God to help you. He will give you the grâce you need to stand firm amidst trials and temptations. Jesus Himself went through moments of weakness but He remained steadfast till the end. In union with Him, we are also weak but we are sure that we shall share God's power in His life as we cling to Him.
I may not know your weaknesses. I may not even know the trials you are facing right now. But one thing I know is that, our God is still on throne. He is able to give you strength in your Weaknesses. If you lean on Him and seek His help, He will come to your rescue. Examine yourself to find out if you are still in the faith. May God help us as we take out time to do a self Examination. May He point out to us the areas of our lives where we need to repent and May He increase in you so that by His mighty power, you can resist the devil and overcome all the temptations that come your way. Examine yourself and find out if you are in the faith. Have a blessed day with the Lord and a splendid weekend.

*WISDOM FOR TODAY*
Fri 6th March, 2026
LENT DAY 15
Jn 9:46-59
*JESUS IS THE I AM; BELIEVE IN HIM*
Beloved brothers and sisters in the Lord, today is Day 15 of our Lent journey and we continue to study about the supremacy of our Lord Jesus Christ and how He was opposed by the very ignorant and faithless Jewish leaders. As we meditate on this message this morning, I pray that God will enable you to understand the mysteries in His word, by Faith.
Beloved in Christ, God identified Himself to Moses in the story of the burning bush in Exod 3:14, as "I AM WHO I AM". This name signified His Self Existence, Eternity, and Supreme authority. When you call God, the I AM, you are saying that He is forever the same. He never changes. He existed even before time began. Now in our passage, Jesus uses that name for Himself, to prove His Divine nature. But the Pharisees and Teachers of the Law accused Him of blasphemy, claiming equality with God. They challenged Him and called Him a "Samaritan devil". In the preceding verses to our text, Jesus told them that they shall know the truth and the truth shall set them free (Jn 8:32). Instead of seeking to Know Jesus, who was the truth, they were rejecting Him. They discredited him and insulted Him. This morning, as we seek to know more and more of Jesus, the truth, I pray that you will open up your heart and let the Spirit of God take His place and guide you by faith to understanding the deep mysteries of God's word.
Jesus is the I AM of God, do you believe this? He reigns in majesty. He existed even before time began. He is far greater than Abraham and all the prophets of old. He remains the Eternal word of God.
I will like us to note the following from our passage:

Do not wastte time and energy argueing spiritual issues. Pray that the Holy Spirit gives you discernment concerning the things that are beyond your understanding. Stop argueing spiritual issues which you have no understanding about. It is not good to condemn others just because you do not understand what they believe in. You may not know how God has revealed Himself to them. The Pharisees spent their time argueing with Jesus, claiming to understand more instead of submitting to be taught by Him. Don't waste that time in argument. Just ask God to help you.

It takes faith to understand Divine mysteries. Build up your faith in Christ and by faith you will be able to experience God more. Heb 11:6 says that it is impossible to please God without faith, because those who come to God must believe that He exists and that He is a faithful Rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. The Pharisees claimed to know God, but Jesus told them that if they were of God, they will obey His word. Beloved in the Lord, are you born of God? Do you obey His word or do you reject it?
In our text this morning, Jesus declares His sinlessness, his Divinity and His Divine Authority to grant Eternal life to those who believe in Him and obey His word. The Pharisees after calling Him many derogatory names and linking Him to Satan, chose to stone Him but He left without them noticing. I pray that God will protect you and take you out of the trap your enemies have set for you in the name of Jesus. Wherever they are standing and waiting to kill You, I pray that God will blind their eyes for you to pass unnoticed, in the name of Jesus.
My dear brothers and sisters in the Lord, what people think and say about us is not as important as to who we truly are. Sometimes, what people think about us is a direct opposite of who we are. We must uphold our true identity in Christ and never allow their opinions to shape our person. Some people might see you and consider you as a demon but God knows who you are. They might have rejected you because of a wrong notion of you. May God vindicate you. Remember that they insulted even Jesus as 'Samaritain devil'. For a Jew to call you a Samaritan, was bad enough but to combine a Samaritan and the devil would have been the greatest insult. No one would take such an insult. But Jesus did not dwell on what they thought. He only tried to make them see their faults and to repent of their evil ways. Do not dwell on the insults of those who are standing against you. Forgive them for they are ignorant.
As you step out today, I pray that you will overcome the trials on your way and seek to know Christ more for who He is. He is the I AM, the Sufficiency of the Saints, Self Existing, All Sufficient God. Believe in Him and you will have life. Amen
