Second Sunday of Lent
Gen 12:1-4; Psalm 33; 2 Tim 1:8-10; Mt 17:1-10
THE PATH TO TRUST

What would make you trust the Lord? What will make you keep on his path inspite of the challenges, failures and setbacks? Only a trust because you have seen their glory can do this.

In our first reading Abram is asked to move from familiarity to unknown. Do you remember moving to another city? Migrating to another country? Immigrating to build your family elsewhere? What gave you the trust and the courage to do it? What do you have in the New place that the old did not give you? Come into the unknown and I will make you a great nation.

Choosing Christ is easy but walking with Christ to the end will take for Christ to prove that the one in whom you have placed your trust is capable to sustain you all the way even when your reality doesn’t look like it. Who am I talking to? Your reality doesn’t look like there is any point continuing your big dream. Not only are your pockets empty but you have debt. Not only are your employees unwilling they do not apply the system you taught them. Who am I talking to you? Not only are your friends not taking your calls but you yes to Christ has taken you to a whole new level where you have no friends but the Lord. I have a word for you today. May I preach it.

You need to see the Lord transfigured to have the courage to walk with Christ to the end. Let me say it this way. Unless you ask Christ to show themselves in their glory you have no idea who is it that’s calling you on an unknown journey. You have got to ask to receive. Say Lord show me your glory. The revelation of Christ’s riches will help you trust in provision. The revelation of Christ’s power will help you trust you will make useful connections. The revelation of Christ’s listening to you will help you trust enough to ask in prayer for what you need.

I often hear a Catholic say: I am just being realistic. I don’t have the money to start. I don’t know anyone who can follow my documents. Who is this Divine that you worship who is unreal, broke, and isolated???? Lent challenges you to change your mind, change your understanding about who it is calling you by asking to see the Transfiguration. It takes trust to be a follower of Christ and this only comes from mountain witness. So lift your eyes up and call Christ to manifest.

Lord, let your mercy be on us, as we place our trust in you

Prenez l'initiative

Le Carême est un temps de transformation intérieure, un temps pour se libérer des conceptions du divin qui vous freinent dans votre progression. C'est un cheminement qui vous permet de discerner ce que vous devez abandonner pour atteindre votre but. La solution de ce premier dimanche de Carême ? PRENEZ L'INITIATIVE ! À qui m'adresse cet appel ?

Le Tentateur avait préparé la venue du Fils de Marie dans le désert, à tel point que l'auteur de l'Évangile en conclut que Jésus s'y est rendu pour y être tenté par le diable. Prendre l'initiative, c'est prendre les rênes. N'hésitez plus ! Dans la première lecture, nous voyons Yahvé prendre l'initiative de créer les humains. Savait-Il que nous serions rebelles ? Oui ! Savait-Il que nous serions ingrats ? Oui ! Savait-Il que nous refuserions d'aimer les autres ? Oui ! Ces incertitudes n'ont pas empêché le Seigneur de nous créer, de nous aimer et de nous sauver. À votre avis, qu'a-t-Il dû renoncer à sa nature divine pour, malgré tout, nous créer ? Nous donner un cerveau capable de tout inventer. N'est-ce pas merveilleux ? À qui m'adresse ce message ? Commencez dès aujourd'hui à prendre l'initiative.

Ainsi, Paul dit que par un seul homme le péché est entré dans le monde, et pourtant, par l'initiative d'un seul homme… à qui m'adresse ce message… il y a eu une abondance pour la multitude. Je vous l'ai dit, je ne serai pas comme tous ceux qui vous ont laissés englués dans l'hésitation et la procrastination. Prenez l'initiative.

Voyez, le Seigneur ne fabrique pas de tables et de chaises. Le Seigneur d'Éden ne fait que des arbres. C'est à vous de sortir la table de l'arbre. Cessez de prier pour des tables et des chaises, des produits finis, car vous n'obtiendrez que des arbres attendant votre initiative.

Seigneur, soyez miséricordieux envers nous-mêmes, car nous avons péché. Que l'Église dise…

Take Initiative
You know Lent is a process of reshaping your mind and letting go your notions of the divine that is holding you back from your next step. Lent is a journey for you to see what you need to leave behind to get to your goal and the solution from the 1st Sunday of Lent is TAKE INITIATIVE ! Who am I talking to?
The Tempter was prepared for Mary's Son in the desert to the extent that the author of the gospel has to conclude that the reason that Jesus went into the desert was to be tempted by the devil. Taking initiative puts you center stage, stop hesitating !
In the first reading we see Yahweh taking the initiative to create humans. Did S/He know we would be rebellious? yes! Did S/He know we would be ungratelful? yes! Did S/He know we would refuse to love others? yes! The what ifs did not stop thed Lord form creating, loving, saving you and I. What do you think Yahweh had to leaved behind of the divine self to, still, go aheaed and make you and I? ? giving us a brain to invent anything. Isnt it wonderful to know ? Who am I talking to? Start today to take initiative.
So Paul says through one man sin entered the world and yet through one man 's intiatived...who am I talking to... there is overflow for the many. I told you I will not lent be like all the others that still left you stuck in hesitation and procrastination. Take initiative.
See the Lord does not make tables and chairs. The Lord of Eden only makes trees. it is up to you to pull the table out of the tree. stop praying for tables and chairs- finished products for all you will get is trees waiting for your initiative.
For our hesitation to answer your call, Be merciful, O Lord, for we have sinned. Let the Church say....
