Every race has a finish line. And in the race that we call life, we all reach the finish line at our appointed time. How will you cross? Will you cross with confidence, knowing that Jesus has secured your victory? Will you cross with humility, knowing that faith has brought you to the finish? What should we be doing now to prepare ourselves for our final victory?

There was much speculation about the form the Messiah would take when God sent him. Would he be a great warrior, sent to free Israel from Rome? In fact, he was much more than that. The Jews did not expect that God would send the embodiment of Himself down to earth (who, after all, could imagine such as thing was possible?). Still, the Son of God did come to earth, and he sacrificed that life that would be with the Father. Praise be to our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ Amen

Nothing is more sacred than the relationship between a newborn and their mother. People and animals in their infancy are generally all unable to live without the care and milk from their mothers. It is the same for Christians: in order to live we must seek the truth, the sincere wisdom of God's word. Without it, we will not grow. Without it, we will die. Any that are here are clearly in the right direction. Now go out and tell the people of God's word!

It has taken some time for mankind to commit fully to the truthful word of the Lord. God created both heaven and earth, and has sent Jesus to earth to help humanity understand his plan. Our faith will be shown to Him and when Jesus returns to judge us, the prophecy shall be fulfilled. Until that day, we all wait with bated breath.

Israel had become a den of iniquity, a land of hypocrisy, a place where the poor were trodden down and the name of the Lord was not honored. But even in this sad state, if Israel would have truly repented, seeking to do good and not evil, God would have foregone the judgment that was coming upon them

Forgiveness is one of the most talked about concepts in the Bible. If it is talked about so much and God is ALWAYS willing to forgive us if we ask, what do you think He would want us to do when someone asks us for forgiveness?

Dear God, who art in heaven, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Grant me the wisdom to realize my mortal impermanence, for I so long for the day that I can join You and Jesus in Heaven. I desire to feel Your love forever and reciprocate it to You, but I know that I must purge myself of my sinful ways and ask forgiveness. I ask that You help me reach these lofty goals, for with You I know it is possible, my strength and redeemer, O Lord. Amen 🙏🙏🙏🙏

There is nothing in this world that doesn't amaze me. Nothing on this earth will last forever, but we should not be worried about what happens so much on this earth. We should be thinking about how we can be with the Lord forever. The dead believers of Christ will go first, and the living will go second. We must be a part of those groups that hear the trumpet call of God. Live your life in a way that it is possible.

We often measure ourselves up to others. Are they better or worse than me? Should I look up to them, them to me, or are we equals? These thoughts are not necessary. Submit to your elders, but above all have humility. Whether you are young or old, rich or poor, tall or short, etc., you are to be humble and interact with others in a humble way. God gives grace to those who are humble. Ditch your pride for the sake of the gospel

Paul is giving Timothy both encouragement and instruction. Timothy is obviously young, but he has been chosen to preach. He is told, however, to be a good example of Christianity. Paul knows that the people will be watching him. He is also told to study as well as to encourage and to teach. We have been called to be disciples because of our Baptism. We too must be good examples of the Christianity we proclaim. It doesn't matter if we are young or old, we are expected to imitate Christ in our way of life, in how we show love to one another and by our moral choices. We are also expected to grow in our knowledge of the faith by reading the Scriptures, and to encourage others to be faithful and to teach others by word and example. We should never stop learning! I'm constantly amazed by how much I have forgotten of what I have read. And I am also surprised that a passage I have read many times before now has a different meaning to me. That's because Scripture is a living word. I know I have said that before, but we sometimes need reminding. This is one of the reasons passages of Scripture appear in more than one book in the Bible and sometimes with expanded meaning. Jesus himself quotes Scripture and gives a new interpretation, a clearer understanding of its meaning. Just as Timothy had Paul as his teacher, we also might seek out others who can help us understand what it means to be a Christian and also who will support us as we witness our faith to others

It is good and profitable to use God's wisdom to solve situations. When we try and solve situations using our emotions, mistakes will always be made. You will find joy and happiness when you rely on the wisdom of God, because it always ensures that situations turn out for the best
