🇨🇲RECAP!🎉
From May 21-24, 2026, Jerusalem UMC Douala hosted an Entrepreneurial training, worship, and transformation event as young people from across the district gathered to brainstorm and reflect on the future of the church.

Day 1 opened with a charge from Rev. Melvis, District Superintendent of the Coastal District, preaching from the Parable of the Talents - a reminder that every youth carries a gift to multiply for God and for Cameroon. We were blessed by the presence and ministry of Rev. Dr. Danladi Diko, Rev. Dr. Jean Claude Masuka, and Rev. Roland Bibi, Superintendent of the Central District.

Through teachings on Entrepreneurship: A Biblical & African Framework with Rev. Dr. Jean Claude Masuka, youths were challenged to see Christianity beyond prayer - to embrace work, skill, and value creation as acts of worship and service.
Rev. Dr. Diko led us deeper into Leadership and Mentorship, calling this generation to lead with integrity and multiply leaders.

🔋The program closed with a thanksgiving ceremony and the awarding of certificates of participation. Hearts were full, skills were sharpened, and a generation was commissioned to build, create, and serve.

To Global Ministries – The United Methodist Church and host Rev. Dr. Jean Claude Masuka the project initiator, we say thank you for believing in Cameroon’s youth.
To every facilitator and participant: your Availability, Devotion, and Service have lit a fire that will not go out.

This is not the end. It’s the beginning of projects, businesses, and kingdom impact led by young people of faith.

📖 “I will go before you and level the mountains… I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God” [Isaiah 45:2, 5]. He forms light and creates darkness, makes well-being and creates calamity — the Lord does all these things [Isaiah 45:7].

Do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes to test you. Rejoice that you share Christ’s sufferings, so that you may also rejoice and be glad when His glory is revealed [1 Peter 4:12-13]. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you [1 Peter 4:14].

Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you. Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you [1 Peter 5:6-7]. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Resist him, firm in your faith [1 Peter 5:8-9].

Jesus prayed for you: “Father, glorify Your Son… Holy Father, keep them in Your name, that they may be one, even as we are one” [John 17:1, 11]. You are kept. You are not alone.

📖 Offering Our Best: YOUTH MINI HARVEST.
What a glorious day at Jerusalem UMC Douala! Today’s Youth Mini Harvest was not just an event; it was a profound encounter with the spirit of giving. When we talk about "Giving God our Best," we aren't just talking about what is left over, we are talking about what is most precious to us.

- The Blueprint of Ultimate Sacrifice
To give our best is to trust God with the very things we hold dearest. We see this through the ages:

- The Faith of Abraham: Called to offer his only son, Isaac, Abraham didn't hesitate. He proved that his love for the Provider outweighed his love for the blessing.

- The Devotion of Hannah: After years of longing, she didn't cling to Samuel. Instead, she returned him to the Lord, understanding that a gift dedicated to God grows into a legacy for a nation.

- The Love of the Father: The ultimate standard was set by God Himself. He didn't send an angel or a representative; He gave His Best—Jesus Christ—so that we might have life eternal.

As the Coastal District Youth Coordinator, Diffang Joover, powerfully reminded us in today’s sermon: our sacrifice is the loudest form of our worship.

We are also glad to announce A New Sound, A New Move! 💃🕺
The atmosphere was electrified as the Music Ministry officially launched their new dance group: "JERUSALEM STEPPERS!". Their energy and precision are a testament to the talent brewing within the Jerusalem Parish.

🙏 We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who supports the works of God in cash, kind and even Prayers. A special "Thank You" goes to (Mike Danny) a fervent youth in the Diaspora for his incredible gesture of support, as presented by our Jerusalem Youth President (Forgwe Brian). Your investment in the youth is an investment in the Kingdom!

The Harvest is Plentiful 🌾
Today we sowed seeds of talent, finance, and faith. Let us carry this spirit forward, remembering that when we give God our best, He multiplies it beyond our wildest imagination.

📖 The Way to Follow. The Rock to Stand On. ✝️🪨

In a world of shifting sands, our foundation remains unshakable.

Jesus declared, "I am the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6). He is not just a path; He is the only path that leads us to the Father. But He didn't leave us to walk alone—He built His Church on a solid foundation, calling Peter the "Rock" upon which the ministry would stand.

Why this matters today:

- The Way: When you are lost, Christ is your map.

- The Truth: When you are confused, His Word is your clarity.

- The Life: When you are weary, His Spirit is your strength.

- The Rock: When life's storms hit, you are anchored by the foundation of the Church.

Let us walk the Way with confidence this week, knowing we stand on a Rock that cannot be moved!

📖 The church is more than a building; it’s the people. Today’s Laity & Widows Sunday was a tribute to the silent strength of our widows and the tireless energy of our lay members.

We are proud to be part of the United Methodist Church, fostering a spirit of unity and support to all.
Let’s continue to build, support, and love one another!

📖 IS YOUR FOUNDATION BUILT TO LAST? 🔨🔥
Before God could use Gideon to save a nation, Gideon had to tear down the idols in his own backyard.

You cannot build a heavenly future on a faulty family altar.

Gideon taught us that private obedience precedes public victory.
Elijah showed us that when the altar is repaired, the fire of God falls!

It’s time to deconstruct the "altars" of pride, division, and fear. Let’s rebuild on the only foundation that never shakes: Jesus Christ.

📖 “My Lord and my God!” 🛐

There is a seat for everyone at UMC Jerusalem Parish. Whether you are full of faith or wrestling with questions like Thomas, you belong here. Today’s service reminded us that God's love is big enough for our doubts and strong enough to give us peace.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in worship today in Douala. Let’s go out and be the light, believing in the promises of God even before they manifest!

📖 From the Cross to the Crown: Celebrating Easter at Jerusalem UMC. 👑🍷

After the solemnity of Good Friday, the light has broken through! Today at Jerusalem UMC Douala, our voices rose in one accord to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ with a joint celebration of the Children's (ECODIM) mini harvest.

What Easter Means for Us:
Without the Resurrection, our faith would be in vain. But because the stone was rolled away:
❤️ Our sins are completely forgiven.
❤️ We are no longer slaves to fear.
❤️ We have a seat at the Father’s table.

Easter is a reminder that God always has the final word. No matter the "Friday" you are going through, your "Sunday" is guaranteed in Christ.

Wishing you and your family a glorious and blessed Easter Sunday! 🕊️

📖 The Cross in the City. 📍⛪

Today, UMC Jerusalem Parish took the Way of the Cross to the public eye. Good Friday is the heart of the Christian faith—the moment where humanity's brokenness met God’s overwhelming mercy.

Why we do the Stations of the Cross:

💚 To Remember: Every station reminds us of a specific burden Jesus carried for us.

❤️ To Witness: Bringing the illustration to the road shows our city that Christ’s love is not confined to four walls, it is for everyone.

💛To Humble Ourselves: Walking the path reminds us that we are followers of a Servant King.

From the solemnity of the road to the peace of our closing service, we stand in awe of the Cross. 🕊️

📖 Last night, we gathered to commemorate Holy Thursday, a turning point in our journey toward the Cross. Through the Washing of the Feet, we were reminded that leadership in the Kingdom of God is found in service. Just as Jesus knelt before His disciples, we are called to lay aside our pride and love one another with a humble heart.

We also shared in the Last Supper, honoring the moment Christ instituted the Holy Communion. In the breaking of the bread and the cup, we find our strength and our unity as a body of believers.

These photos capture a glimpse of our devotion as we reflect on the commandment: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." (John 13:34)

📖 The King is Here!🌴
What a powerful Palm Sunday at UMC Jerusalem Parish Douala! We took our faith to the streets today, marching from Petit Baobab to the church in honor of Christ’s triumphal entry.

Palm Sunday marks the start of Holy Week. A time to remember that even in the midst of the crowd's praise, Jesus was walking toward a path of ultimate sacrifice and love for us all.

🌴In biblical times, spreading palm branches was a custom reserved for royalty and heroes. By waving palms today, we acknowledge Jesus as our Eternal King and Prince of Peace, kicking off the most sacred week in the Christian calendar.
