PC Molyko Baptizes and Confirms Christians After Three Weeks of Catechumen Classes

Clad in white, candidates of the three-week catechumen classes occupied the front benches in the center section of the church during the second service at PC Molyko on Sunday, August 23, 2026, happily awaiting baptism and confirmation.

The catechumen classes ran from August 1 to 22, 2026, during which the candidates were taken through lessons aimed at deepening their understanding of the Christian faith and preparing them for full membership in the church.

They were taught about the Christian faith, the Bible, church doctrine, Christian conduct and their responsibilities as members of the church. At the end of the classes, they were examined to assess their understanding before being admitted for baptism or confirmation.

Accompanied by their godparents, the candidates for baptism included 18 adults and four infants, while 21 Christians were presented for confirmation.

The candidates took their oath, administered by the Parish Pastor, Rev. Dr. Mrs. Tabi Pascaline. After they had all accepted, the activity began, first with baptism and then confirmation, conducted by Rev. Dr. Mrs. Tabi Pascaline and the Associate Pastor, Rev. Sone Roland Ngule.

Having publicly professed their faith and received baptism, the 18 adults received the Sacrament of Holy Communion for the first time, receiving the bread and wine as members of the body of Christ.

With the baptism, confirmation and first Holy Communion completed, the celebration quickly moved to photographs.

There were cheers, smiles and congratulatory messages as family members gathered to take pictures for remembrance. The newly baptized and confirmed Christians first took a group photograph in front of the sanctuary with the pastors before joining their godparents, parents, relatives and friends for more pictures inside and outside the church.

The moments brought to an end three weeks of preparation for the candidates and marked another important step in their Christian journey and life in the church.

PC Molyko welcomes its newest members into the body of Christ and prays God’s continued grace over their walk of faith.

Sunday Service at PC Molyko - August 23, 2026

Today, Sunday, August 23, 2026, the 13th Sunday after Pentecost was a service full of activities, celebration and joy at PC Molyko. Congregants gathered during both the first and second services, ready to listen to the Word of God and give thanks to God.

The congregants were equally happy to see and welcome their Chief Shepherd, Rev. Dr. Mrs. Tabi Pascaline, who had been away for more than three weeks on duty missions, first to the Presbyterian Church in Ghana and later to the Presbyterian Church in Nigeria as part of a PCC delegation.

Drawing her lesson from Mark 7:31–37, Rev. Dr. Mrs. Tabi Pascaline preached on the theme, “There is a Visible Change When Jesus Touches Your Life.”

Taking the congregation through the story of the deaf man who also had difficulty speaking, the pastor described what life must have been like for him: seeing people talking and laughing but being unable to hear or understand what they were saying, and unable to properly communicate with them.

But rather than abandoning or stigmatising him because of his condition, the people took the man to Jesus.

The pastor used their action to challenge Christians on how they treat people going through difficult situations. Instead of being quick to report, condemn or destroy people, Christians should learn to take their problems to God in prayer.

“How many people have you taken to Christ?” she asked, pointing to people around us who may be struggling in schools, broken homes and other difficult situations.

“There is a visible change when Jesus touches your life,” she told the congregation, explaining that when God brings change into a person’s life, its fruits become visible.

She went on to draw examples from Scripture of people whose situations changed after encountering Jesus.

In Matthew 8:1–4, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched a man with leprosy, someone others would ordinarily avoid because of his condition, and he was cleansed.

From Mark 5:35–43, she recalled the story of Jairus’ daughter. Though the girl had died, Jesus took her by the hand and said, “Talitha Cumi,” and she got up. The pastor used the story to remind Christians that the touch of Jesus can bring life even where others have already declared a situation dead.

She also referred to Peter’s mother-in-law in Matthew 8:14–15. Jesus touched her hand, the fever left her and she got up and began to serve.

“The touch of Jesus does not merely remove our affliction; it restores us to purpose,” she said, reminding Christians that everyone has a purpose in life despite the limitations they may presently face.

The pastor further spoke about the two blind men in Matthew 9 whose eyes were opened after Jesus touched them, and the man born blind in John 9:1–7. She told the congregation that the touch of Jesus can bring light into areas of life where there has been darkness.

The pastor ended by praying for God to touch His children, restore their frustrations and break the barriers that have been limiting them, so that the change in their lives will bring glory and honour to His name.

The Sunday also saw the reception of new members into Christendom through baptism and confirmation, with infants and adults receiving baptism while those baptised during infancy were confirmed.

The procession during the first service was led by Redemption Choir, while Haleluja Choir led the procession during the second service.

Sunday Service at PC Molyko — August 16, 2026.

In the early hours of this Sunday, August 16, 2026, as early as 7:00 a.m. and later at 9:30 a.m., PC Molyko was filled with congregants for both the first and second services.

The 12th Sunday after Pentecost at PC Molyko was led by the Associate Pastor, Rev. Sone Roland Ngule, who preached on the theme, “God, Have Mercy on Me, a Sinner,” drawn from Luke 18:9–14.

The clergyman began his sermon by asking Christians to tell their neighbours, “In God’s house, keep your pride.” He then called on the congregation to humble themselves before God, explaining that even in the house of God, some Christians are filled with what he described as spiritual arrogance.

Quoting James 2:17, “Faith without works is dead,” Rev. Sone explained that while Christians are expected to do good works, those works alone cannot make anyone righteous before God.

Acts of charity, attending church services, paying tithes and being good to others are important, he said, but these are fruits of faith and should not become reasons for Christians to consider themselves more righteous than others.

“God, have mercy on me, a sinner,” he repeated, asking how often Christians wake up and genuinely acknowledge before God that they have sinned and need His mercy.

He reminded the congregation that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. For this reason, good deeds alone cannot reconcile a person with God. Christians must depend on the grace of God received through faith in Jesus Christ.

“If you want to be righteous, measure up with Christ, not with another human being,” he told the congregation.

Rev. Sone also cautioned Christians against judging people simply by their outward appearance. What fellow human beings see on the outside may not reflect what is in a person’s heart, which is known by God.

Referring to Isaiah 6:5, he reminded the congregation of the need to recognise one’s own sinful state before a holy God. He also drew attention to Luke 1:50–52, where God’s mercy extends to those who fear Him, the proud are scattered, and the humble are lifted up.

The preacher noted that a Christian may be eloquent in prayer, quote Scripture from Genesis to Revelation and appear very pious outwardly, yet still be filled with pride and arrogance within.

Being a good person and doing good works, he maintained, are important, but they are not enough on their own to bring justification and righteousness before God.

As he brought the sermon to a close, Rev. Sone called on Christians to set aside spiritual arrogance, self-righteousness and pride and approach God in humility and surrender.

“Our only hope is God’s mercy,” he told the congregation, urging Christians to acknowledge their sins, confess them before God and depend on His grace rather than their own works.

Procession was led by CYF during the first service and Temple Choir during the second service.

Sunday Service at PC Molyko New Layout Prayer Cell | August 9, 2026

It was another Sunday of worship and fellowship at PC Molyko New Layout Prayer Cell as believers gathered for the 11th Sunday after Pentecost, praising God, listening to the sharing of His Word and taking part in the administration of the Holy Communion.

The sermon was preached by the associate pastor, Rev. Sone Roland Ngule, who preached on the theme “My Father’s House: A House of Prayer, Not a Den of Robbers”, drawn from Luke 19:41-48.

He began by challenging the congregation to look beyond simply coming to church and ask whether their hearts truly belong to Christ. According to him, coming to church without having Christ in our hearts is fake. God is not only interested in our presence in church, but in the sincerity of our hearts.

He went further to speak about the authenticity of worship, saying oming to church beautifully dressed, does not mean much if our hearts have not become a house of prayer. What we show outwardly should be a reflection of what is happening inside us.

The preacher also challenged the congregation on the importance of intercession. A house of prayer, he said, should not only be concerned about its own needs. A true believer must also be willing to stand in the gap for others and carry their burdens before God.

Drawing from the account of Jesus cleansing the temple in Luke 19:41-48, Rev. Sone reminded the congregation that the temple had been created as a place of prayer, but had lost its true purpose. Jesus therefore cleansed it because what was meant to be a house of prayer had become something else.

He encouraged Christians to look at their own lives in the same way. Are our hearts places where God is truly worshipped? Is our coming to church more than a routine? Are we living lives of prayer, purity and genuine fellowship, or have we become comfortable with religious traditions without a true relationship with Christ?

The message also connected with Jeremiah 7:1-11, where the people were warned against putting their confidence in the temple while continuing to live contrary to God’s ways.

The message was a call for every believer to examine the authenticity of their Christian life. Beyond the clothes we wear, the services we attend and the religious activities we take part in, God is looking at the heart.

The question therefore remains: Is your heart truly a house of prayer?

Sunday Service at PC Molyko | August 9, 2026

PC Molyko congregants of both the first and second services were blessed by worship led by visiting preacher, Rev. Mrs. Sobe Florence Ebango, the National Coordinator for the Peace Work Office of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon.

With procession led by BAPRESCA in the first service and Restoration Choir in the second service, PC Molyko’s Christians gathered to praise God, listen to His Word, reflect on their Christian lives, and take part in the administration of the Holy Communion for the month of August during both services.

Rev. Mrs. Sobe Florence Ebango’s message was centered on the theme “God Is Looking for a House of Prayer and Not a Hideout for Thieves,” drawn from Luke 19:41-48.

Drawing from the account of Jesus cleansing the temple, the preacher reminded Christians that the church is not simply a building where people gather, but a place meant for prayer, worship and fellowship with God.

She began by drawing attention to the difference between the appearance of a place and its true purpose. According to her, just as a person may focus on having a beautiful house and forget what the house is meant for, Christians can also become focused on the church building, programmes and activities while forgetting the reason for which the church exists.

Referring to Luke 19:46, where Jesus said, “My house shall be a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves,” she explained that the temple had moved away from its original purpose. A place that was supposed to be dedicated to God had become a place of transactions, manipulation and wrongdoing.

She therefore challenged Christians to ask themselves an important question: What tables does Jesus need to overturn in your heart and in your life today?

According to the preacher, some people come to church not necessarily to meet God, but to fulfil an obligation, to be seen or simply to participate in the social life of the church. She warned that outward religious activities mean little when the heart remains far from God. She therefore questioned Christians who come to church, worship and participate in church activities while continuing to live in bitterness, hatred, envy, greed, competition and self-gain.

Rev. Mrs. Sobe Florence Ebango also reminded the congregation that Christians are themselves temples of God. Referring to 1 Corinthians 3:16-17, she asked believers to consider what they are doing with their lives and whether their actions are pleasing to God.

The preacher also spoke about people who seek power, fame, promotion and quick money through occult practices and other means, yet come to church and worship as though nothing is wrong.

She challenged Christians to examine themselves rather than concentrating only on the faults of others. While acknowledging the biblical teaching that each person will answer for their own actions, she reminded the congregation that Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.”

According to her, God’s mercy is what continues to sustain believers despite their shortcomings. She encouraged Christians not to take God’s grace for granted, but to return to Him with sincerity, humility, repentance and genuine prayer.

The preacher concluded by reminding the congregation that God is not only concerned about the condition of the church building, but also the condition of the hearts of those who worship in it. If the temple has lost its purpose, it must be restored; if the heart has grown cold, it must be revived; and if anything has taken the place of God, it must be surrendered.

Both services equally featured the send-off of student pastors from the Presbyterian Theological Seminary (PTS) who had been supporting church activities at PC Molyko. As they return to continue their studies and training towards becoming pastors, they were sent forth in an atmosphere of prayer and financial support from the congregation.

CYF Simbock Mendong ministering in songs at PC Molyko on Sunday, August 2, 2026, during their evangelical return visit, tagged SIMLYKO 2026.

SIMLYKO 2026: CYF Simbock Mendong Pays Return Fellowship Visit to PC Molyko

In May 2025, CYF Molyko embarked on a two-day evangelical visit to their counterparts, CYF Simbock Mendong, in a fellowship visit known as SIMLYKO. One year later, it was CYF Simbock Mendong’s turn to return the visit, this time under the banner SIMLYKO 2026.

The visit took place on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2, 2026. Upon their arrival, the visitors joined the congregation of PC Molyko for the church’s monthly new month service, held on the first day of every month.

The weekend was filled with activities that strengthened the bond between the two youth groups. They took part in sporting activities, including a football match, enjoyed touristic visits, and later on Saturday evening held a concert at the church premises, bringing together members of both fellowships in an atmosphere of praise, fellowship and celebration.

On Sunday, August 2, CYF Simbock worshipped with the congregation of PC Molyko during both the first and second services. They led the procession in both services and ministered through songs that were warmly appreciated by the congregation.

Speaking during the second service, the President of CYF Simbock, Brother Tebi Glancy, thanked his counterpart, Brother Afubai Cham Lang, for the warm hospitality shown throughout the visit, describing him as “a good man.”

As a sign of appreciation and the friendship between the two fellowships, CYF Simbock presented a gift to the congregation. It was received on behalf of PC Molyko by the Associate Pastor, Rev. Sone Roland Ngulle, who expressed gratitude for the visit and said he hoped similar fellowship visits between the two CYF groups would continue in the future.

The SIMLYKO exchange continues to strengthen the relationship between the two Presbyterian youth fellowships, promoting Christian fellowship, unity and shared growth in faith.
