The Christian Women Fellowship (CWF) of PC Garoua joyfully received the first-place award of the 2025 CWF Annual Rally. They emerged as overall champions. Out of the 1,182 CWF groups that participated in the 2025 rally both at home and in the Diaspora, CWF Garoua achieved an outstanding score of 197 out of 200 points earning them the top spot globally.

The award was presented by the National Secretary for the Women's Work Department (WWD), Rev. Mrs. Uso Theresia Berndzeh, during a heartfelt Divine service on Sunday, March 16, 2026, at PC Garoua, in the presence of key church leaders and members. This award came with a flag, a certificate, and a cash prize, making it a truly memorable event. The gathering included CWF Presbytery executive members, guests from near and far, and the Christian community of PC Garoua, all sharing in this historic moment.

Filled with happiness and motivation, the Garoua CWF members promised to work even harder to defend their title and continue excelling in future rallies. This celebration was especially meaningful as it marked the first time a group from the Grand North has reached such a distinguished global ranking, bringing great pride to their community and inspiring others to pursue excellence.

The National Secretary for the Women's Work Department (WWD) the Rev. Mrs Uso Theresia Berndzeh, representing the Moderator of the PCC, has presided over the Induction reception service of the Presbyterial Secretary for Ndop, the Rev. Akijika Godlove Folinjo.

This was during Sunday, March 22, 2026 divine service in PC Bamunka, with hundreds of worshippers answering present to warmly receive the Chief Shepherd of the Presbytery.

Preaching from John 12:27–36 on the theme, “Implications of Jesus Christ Being Lifted Up to Believers,” the Rev. Mrs Uso Theresia Berndzeh, reminded the Christians that trials, challenges, and pain do not imply God has abandoned them, for just as Jesus endured suffering and overcame, the same will apply to them as long as they do not give up.

The event was marked with pomp and fanfare, as groups from Bui and other areas within the Ndop Presbytery gathered for the occasion.

Present at the ceremony were the National Sunday School Officer, Presbyterial Secretaries from Bui and Bafut, Christian communities from the Baptist and Roman Catholic Churches, Muslim faithful, administrative and traditional authorities, well-wishers, and family members.

The Women's Work Department of PCC administers various programs and projects, all primarily focused on addressing the specific needs of women from a comprehensive perspective. One such initiative is the Women's Economic Empowerment and Literacy Project (WEELP). WEELP endeavours to enhance the livelihoods of vulnerable self-employed and less educated women in the Southwest, Northwest, and East Mungo Regions through skills development and adult literacy classes.

Consequently, three learners from Misaje and ten from the Ngwalang literacy centres received their certificates acknowledging the successful completion of their three-year courses at PC Misaje and PC Ngwalang. It is noteworthy that Mrs. Emmerencia Forbang was successful in the 2025 FSLC examination. Both graduation ceremonies were officiated by the parish pastors of the respective congregations. Additionally, it is important to highlight that WEELP, which is sponsored by M21 with support from WWD and CWF, is accessible to all women regardless of their denomination.

Interested individuals are encouraged to contact the National Office of WWD for further information.

Report prepared by Njotu Angeline, NW Region Coordinator for WEELP.
