Ministering: Pastor E. A. Adeboye
Topic: Winds of Change
Text: John 3:8
There is a link between the wind and the Spirit of God.
You can't see the wind, but you can see its actions and feel its effect.
1. The first time the Spirit of God moved was in Genesis 1: 1-5, and He spoke.
• Whenever God speaks, healing happens. Psalm 107:20
• God told darkness, loose your victims. Mark 10: 46-52
2. The second time the wind blew was in Genesis 2:7
• God breathed into the nostrils of man, and mud became a living soul.
• That soul became something so precious that all the money in the world can not buy. Mark 8: 36-37
☆ You may not look like it, but you are very important to God.
If you were the only person on earth, Jesus would still have come to die for you.
▪︎ When the wind blows, someone who is considered a nobody can suddenly become a very significant person.
• When you are still breathing, there is hope for you. Ecclesiastes 9:4
• Even if everybody has written you off and the wind blows for you, God can still surprise them.
John 11: 34-35
☆ There is always a last card that God can play when everyone has given up hope. Mark 5
3. The wind blew in 2 Kings 2: 9-15, Elijah was taken by a whirlwind to heaven. The wind cheated death.
• The wind blew, and Enoch was taken up.
▪︎ Whenever the wind blows, difficult prayers are answered. John 14: 14
▪︎ When the wind blows, it accelerates your promotion.
4. The greatest wind of change blew in Acts 2: 1-4. For those on whom the wind blew:
》 They became bold
》 The ordinary became extraordinary
Lift your voice to God and cry:
• Father, the very best You can ever give to me, give to me tonight.
• Father, don't let the sky be my limit. Let heaven alone be my limit.
☆ When the wind blows, it blows open secrets.
Is the wind blowing for you or against you?
The same wind that opened the Red Sea for the children of Israel is the same wind that caused the sea to drown the Egyptians.
• God is sovereign. He does as He pleases. Psalm 115:3
He has made arrangements such that the wind blows in your favour if you love and serve Him.
Proverbs 8: 17, Romans 9: 15
If you forsake your sin and surrender your life to God, the wind can begin to blow in your favour.
Matthew 5:7, Proverbs 28: 13
Wind and fire are partners.
"Let the wind blow" is another way to say "let the fire fall."
1 Kings 19: 11-12, 2 Kings 2: 9-15
There is no science for changing ashes back to firewood. It means that when the fire falls, every blessing that the wind releases will be permanent.
Salvation Call
