“I prophesy to you that the Church of Jesus Christ is going to face the greatest test of faith that it has ever faced since the time of Jesus on this earth during the period just before the coming of our Lord. Experiences will be shaken, denominations, church structures.
We dare not fix our faith on any of them. We dare not fix our faith on a personality or human instrument, only in the living and written Word of God.
I had a vision in Lima, Ohio, in 1957 when God not only showed me the charismatic movement which became a great force throughout Christendom long before it actually happened, but He showed me the Christian Church as it exists today.
I saw people who tried to belong to two worlds. They tried to walk a line in the middle and hold on to both the Church and the world. They tried to be a part of the moving of the Holy Spirit and still keep their position in an apostate church.
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
(II Timothy 3:5)
God showed me that there is coming a time when the Church no longer will be able to straddle the fence.
There will be a distinct line that will be drawn between His people and those whose experiences are not really tied or fixed to that which is impregnable and infallible.
He showed me that there is coming a time when those who want the real moving of His Holy Spirit will be distinguished clearly from anybody else.
Sometimes it is not easy to distinguish them now, but this is one of the things God is talking about when He says, “Everything that can be shaken will be shaken.”
Christians’ experiences are going to be shaken to the point that they either are gong to be real, genuine, and true or they will fall into another camp. They will not straddle the fence.
There is coming a division... and I believe that it is already starting.
With the shaking of Christian experiences, so that the real and the middle-of-the-road compromisers are easily distinguishable one from another, there is going to come forth from God’s Church real, sweet, precious, beautiful Christians ministering in the power of the Holy Spirit such as we have never seen!”
