Details:
Marco BERTAGLIA, an International Member living in Italy (isolated from Meeting), will visit Geneva travelling in the Ministry, to speak with Friends about Ubuntu, Community - caring for the Planet & People.

He will speak of the intentional ecological community which he - acting under Quaker concern tested within Woodbrooke's "Equipping for Ministry" - funded in Italy three years ago, Comunità rigenerative, https://www.comunitarigenerative.it - and offer a perspective on Nonviolence & Love for Creation & One Another, a vision to shape a future that is sustainable & peaceful for all beings on this endangered Planet.

"Live adventurously" and "Search out whatever in your own way of life may contain the seeds of war." are two Advices that inform his Ministry.

Marco will also facilitate an interactive approach to presenting his Ministry, which also connects with the theme of the World Plenary Meeting later this year.

Thank you to all who completed the background survey to facilitate the discernment process on the library of Geneva Monthly Meeting.

The Working Group have pulled together the results of the survey and a few background documents and are proposing to hold the discernment meetings on:

Wednesday 27 September at 18:30 on Zoom
Sunday 1 October at 12:30 at Quaker House Geneva after Meeting for Worship. Bring a quick personal lunch so we can start promptly. We will try to keep each meeting to one hour and no more than a maximum of 1.5 hours.

Geneva Monthly Meeting (Quakers) - Groupe quaker de Genève

INVITATION

There are many ways of meditating in or with nature, often rooted in a religious tradition. Quakers, for their part, claim not to meditate, but to strive to open themselves up to inspiration in a collective contemplation based on silence.

If you are one of those who seek harmony with nature in this way, the Communauté de Pirassay and the Geneva Quaker group invite you to join them at the Riantmont chapel, Route de la Chapelle, 01170 Vesancy, France (near Gex), at 11am
Sunday 17 September 2023.

After an hour of meditation or worship, we will share a Canadian picnic. We hope to include people from many traditions of meditation and religious practice. Each person will have the opportunity to explain their approach over the course of the meal.

Before the meal, Philippe Roch will briefly present his new book Nature mystique : la voie de l'écologie spirituelle.

A car-sharing service is being organized. Anyone who can offer a place, or who is looking for one, is asked to contact Ed, indicating your point of departure.

Anyone using public transport should take the F Bus from Cornavin at 09:06 heading for Gex - 09:18 at Gd Saconnex, 09:28 Ferney-Voltaire Mairie - to the end of the terminus at Gex l'Aiglette - arrival 09:55. From there you can walk up through Vesancy to the chapel in about 40 mins, or ask to be picked up by car at l'Aiglette.

With the weather set fine and hot for the next ten days, we are looking forward to seeing many of you at the annual Barbecue next Sunday 20 August, after Meeting for Worship.

Please sign up!

So far the majority of people have seemed to indicate that they would be happy with a vegetarian barbecue. If you plan to come, please note whether you would like to eat meat as this is essential to help with planning and purchasing.

If there is someone familiar with Vegetarian BBQ items (where/what to buy) it would be appreciated if they could help with the purchasing and bring along to Quaker House before Meeting.

It would also be extremely useful for people to indicate what they plan to bring and share, as well as whether people can offer help. Preparing, setting up and cleaning are not small tasks and it is good to know about volunteers in advance so we can share the load.
