🗒️ S4. TOPIC: THE FAMILY CROWNED WITH GLORY

INTRODUCTION:
Since last Sunday, we have begun a series of teachings on the crown of glory.
This is our theme for the entire month, and God has inspired me with many topics to address concerning glory, especially within families.
Brothers and sisters, I want to tell you that life holds many crowns for us, which require certain conditions or principles to be obtained.
Although we are speaking here about the crown of glory for the family, know also that each member of our family can receive their own crown, according to their struggles and victories.
But every family should also have its own symbol, a symbol of glory and authority.
God's deepest desire is that every Christian family be crowned and radiate His glory.
Last Sunday, I taught us the criteria for a family to be crowned with glory.
And this morning, before going into more detail, I want to tell you that some families have already been crowned without even realizing it. That's why the devil stole their crowns.
Other crowned families have lost their crowns because of sin and internal problems. It's good to know this so that we can reclaim them.
In a family, a man can cause his wife or children to lose their crown; a woman can cause her husband or children to lose their crown; and children can cause their parents to lose their crown.
In this regard, the Bible uses the metaphor of the crown to describe the honor, reputation, and joy that spouses bring to one another. Conversely, actions that bring shame, dishonor, or destruction are biblically described as the degradation or exposure of this crown.
Proverbs 12:4
A virtuous wife is a crown to her husband, but a dishonorable wife is like rot in his bones.
A woman who acts foolishly, or who causes shame in secret and especially in public, harms her husband's life and reputation, thus destroying his crown.
Proverbs 14:1
A wise woman builds her house, but a foolish one tears it down with her own hands.
A woman's actions, such as arguments or mismanagement, can directly destroy the peace and stability of the home.
1 Peter 3:7
Husbands, in the same way, live with your wives with kindness and respect, for they are more fragile and co-heirs of the grace of life, so that nothing may hinder your prayers.
By lacking honor, understanding, and love toward his wife, a husband dishonors her and damages her relationship with God, thus depriving her of the honor due to her in marriage.
While life naturally bestows crowns upon us according to certain criteria and principles, Christian theology distinguishes five types of heavenly crowns, identified as spiritual rewards or symbolic victories for believers.
THE 5 HEAVENLY CROWNS
Brothers and sisters, remember that a crown represents: victory, dignity, honor, authority, reward, and glory.
These heavenly crowns are not mere ornaments; they are eternal rewards reserved for victorious believers.
Today's question is: Which crown are you preparing to receive?
1. THE IMPEREASABLE / INCORRUPTIBLE CROWN
1 Corinthians 9:24-25
“Everyone who competes in a competition goes into strict training… they do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.”
Paul compares the Christian life to that of an athlete preparing for a race. Athletes deprive themselves of many pleasures to win a fleeting medal. Likewise, Christians must discipline themselves for eternal glory.
This crown is given to believers who practice: self-control, spiritual discipline, holiness, and victory over sinful desires.
Lessons:
a. Christianity requires discipline
Prayer, fasting, Bible study, and obedience are spiritual exercises.
b. The flesh must not dominate the Spirit
A believer cannot live carelessly and expect victory.
c. God rewards spiritual consistency.
The crown is for those who persevere in holiness.
For example, a professional athlete gets up early, trains daily, avoids bad habits, and sacrifices comfort to win a trophy that may tarnish after a few years.
Similarly, a Christian must reject sin, resist temptation, and remain spiritually disciplined to receive an eternal crown that never fades.
